Hello to those whom were/are interested. I'm a canadian bassist/guitarist/vocalist.
Initially, my reason for creating this channel was to simply have a personal record of ABBA songs I had learnt for an ABBA tribute band I was a part of before and through the pandemic. I had created these videos from which I would 'visually' practice with to save my wrists, during my band's off time in that period.
It turned into inclusion of tablature from various requests, which then turned into learning ANY songs including tablature for them. The collaborations were all during the pandemic, and for the record, I do not know personally ANY of these musicians. Everything was on line.
I continue hoping that this helps those whom wish to undertake learning the bass guitar and/or continue in their progress.
We NEVER stop learning or should we ever stop helping each other to do so.
Groove on boys & girls. We are the foundation to all that is musical :)

Land Of Confusion (Genesis) bass cover
มุมมอง 2.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Tablature available at: th-cam.com/video/3 maBjmpU0/w-d-xo.html Such an epic song. The bass on here is a bit improvised at times, but most of it is accurate. Lyrically this is brilliant and ahead of its time. Think about how the world has changed since 1986 when this song was released. There are brilliant bands out there, and Genesis was most definately one of them. "Land of Confusion" is from ...

This is the best version of the song. Wonderfuly written stuff.
ABBA should have made their basslines more prominent. They are so incredibly GOOD

Awesome rendition of a fabulous song!
I absolutely love this!🤪
Thank you very much :)
That. Was. Awesome.
Beautiful rendition and what a gorgeous video setting. Thanks for sharing...
Fantastic work! I prefer the live version too. I also have many unofficial and very rare fan recordings of that song, and I can assure you there were no problems with the drums during the tour. (As someone mentioned below)- These recordings are from the 1977 tour, so the quality varies, but this song and 'Get On The Carousel' are the best, especially the drum intro to GOTC. I also tried playing that live version of IAM (piano part, using Yamaha CP70 VST)
Thank you for listening. In all fairness to the drummer & bassist, there so much going on in arrangements to an ABBA song overall. 3 years back, I was in an ABBA Tribute, and believe me when I say that the sound engineers had their work cut out. I never heard anything wrong with the drum work. To make it work in an ensemble as this, it has to be somewhat 'understated'. There's just so much room to have the 2 girls' vocals be the focal point. I mean face it, that the money shot for this band. I would think that cymbal work had to be kept somewhat low in the mix to not have things fight - also considering that mixing is not what it is today. ABBA music still quite fashionable from their first album to Voyage. I learnt 75% to 80% of their catalogue over the years, and there wasn't a bad bassline in the bunch.
People generally seem to think of this as kind of a throwaway song, but musically it's right up there with anything else they've done. Thanks for the brilliant job covering it.
Nice! This is exactly the song I wanted to ask for three years ago, but I had already asked you for many hehe... I like the bass in this song. Thanks Master!
Thank you for listening. Yeah, I enjoy playing this song - it's more groove oriented than tech. Just like the song as a whole :)
I was only 2 years old when this gem was released, but this song has a special place in my heart and you gentleman have my respect and deep reverence for doing such justice to this beautiful masterpiece.
Excellent! You need to do Dancing Queen!
I did (amongst many other ABBA songs). Please check out my ABBA playlist. Thank you for listening.

GO AHEAD GO AHEAD GO AHEAD ON WIT CHA BAD ASS POCKET GROOVIN SELF!!!! YEEEEESSS SIR, THAT IS INDEED HOW ITS “DONE”!!! PHENOMENAL JOB, BRAVO STANDING OVATION!!!
Thank you very much :)
Sounds great. Any tips on getting down that “disco gallop” you do during that main riff? I’ve been playing for years and while I can play parts like that, it sounds very unstable and never feels physically easy. I have an easier time playing full Iron Maiden style gallops than those - the string skip makes it much more physically demanding to me. I wonder if I’m doing something inefficiently.
Hmm, not sure I know how to answer that. One thing I know about my playing compared to many other bassists, which is not good or bad thing, is the angle of my right wrist on the bass. My wrist is curled more over the strings than other bassists which brings my fingers a full 90 degrees over the strings. I think that gives me more range for string skipping than if my wrist was more 'flat' over the bass. Now I think there is a downside to the way I play; it reduces fingering speed a bit, but I've adapted over the years. When the wrist is flat, you would strike the top of the string, hooking it less. My style would strike the side of the string hooking it more, but my wrist is already in position to go for the G string with less movement. Hope that helps, tho I'm not sure is the answer ... just what works for me. I'm not saying this galloping style is not tiring for me also tho lol.
Wow! Just awesome.
Fantastic! I always hear this song in an unusual, almost by luck way every year. Loved your rendition of it. Cute little add-on at the end.
Gerçekten çok muhteşem super play gitar çaldınız yürekten tebrik eder kutluyorum çok teşekkür ederim...❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much! :)
Perfection! Loved it.
Thank you very much :)
This is incredible. Very talented. It just shows what Abba has going on deep in the mix. That's a song in its own right.
Fantastic! ❤
Thank you very much! :)
Bien joué
Merci beaucoup! :)
Absolutely awesome. What a hidden gem Thank you ❤
Thank you very much; appreciate your comments.
Looked effortless! You just don’t get bass solos any more!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it.
nicely played and the bass sound is superb in the non slapped parts
Thank you. Yeah something about that bass and its tone. Was my main bass when I played in an ABBA tribute band a few years back.
Such a great 🎵 song, nice bass work 👍
Thank you very much :)
Wow wow, ive just started bass guitar, i hope i live long enough to play half as well as you, incredible.
Thank you very much. Best of luck with your journey on the bass. You definately picked the right instrument.
Very well done sir. Nice to see it played in the original greatness without the slap style added.
Thank you very much; and thank you for listening. Well, I can pop and slap, but I don't think I could that fast and accurately. I think on the original, a lot was done with keyboards.
Yea it was. I'm a bassist myself. Very clean sound you have. Lots of the bass covers on this song are playing the Disturbed version, or playing that style with the OG song. IMO the bass in the Disturbed version is sloppy. The OG Rutherford track is king.
Very good! i think you can mention above that Rutger Ganerson played Bass in the original track
