You hear any other celebrity refer to ‘love’ from their fans and their making a cliche reference to they relate to as nominal celebrity. ie. that normie is beside themselves at seeing someone as famous as me. I think that’s one of the things that made Norm and his maternal so unique, he was from humble, introverted beginnings, acutely empathic it would seem. That’s why he had that rare gift to go out and go completely off the reservation re the material he was going to deliver and still spawn awe and adulation who are in it for much more than his punchlines and all about the winding, eclectic road Norm opted to take when he took anyone anywhere. One of God’s creatures, but also a hardcore, player, pimp, hustler, mother fucker. 🙏

What I like about tiny white coffin is, childhood innocence is not innocence as in they can do no wrong, or ideate wrongdoing. Rather we project that innocence onto them, they are our vehicles of hope. It's a story laden with absurdity, yet it feels somehow raw and real. His turn of phrase and prose are absolutely wonderful at time. I just fuckin love the guy and all the work he left behind.

I miss Norm, i dont have many people i can relate to, but Norm was one of them, never feel alone when hes talking. RIP Norm, Jaques De Gatineau misses you

Norm was the boy in the Tiny White Coffin. He was the boy fighting courageously against a terminal illness. He was also himself in the story, having confronted death, he walked alone down that long black road and never saw things the same again- just white clouds and nothing more. Damn he was brilliant.
