Hi, I'm Eric Newcomer. With this podcast, I dive straight into the heart of the tech industry, interviewing top investors and founders. I’m bringing my sensibility as someone who understands the inside story of Silicon Valley but who is happy to poke and prod as to why the tech world operates like it does.

Whatnot might be gearing up for a TikTok ban—or just buying enough discounts to keep us hooked
In this clip, we talk about Whatnot’s impressive $265 million funding round and what it could mean for the live shopping market-especially if a potential TikTok ban throws the doors wide open. From aggressive discounts to capturing displaced users, we break down whether Whatnot is doubling down to seize an opportunity or just stockpiling cash to weather the uncertain future of livestream retail. The real question: is this the moment live shopping explodes in the U.S., or just another boom-and-bust bet in an already crowded market?

Francois Chollet says that 2024 was very encouraging because most AI developers who didn't know it have realized that LLMs alone are not sufficient for AGI, and neuro-symbolic AI will be required. I don't know about Dario's position on this.
why do this fake waster not see kids on his site and u report they do nothing its a dirty fake site i would not use and the abuse people on it is so bad
Fantastic video! Just a quick question: I have the SafePal Browser Extension Wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (job priority warm lab border boil monkey manage palace fiber weird ask). What steps should I take to transfer them to Binance?
Great insights into Ai compute. Alternative energy resources to power up data centers
The robotics demo at the start was really mind blowing, the world of the Jetsons is coming at us thick and fast, really really impressed by what is already achievable.
Great host. Love how challenging he was!
He talked at Dario rather than with him - constantly interjecting without adding value. His shallow AI knowledge and lack of nuance made the interview pretty underwhelming. Much more focused on the 'people behind AI' rather than the possible existential risk of the technology itself.
@@art-thou-gomeo Not everyone can be asking the same question. All your questions have been answered in many podcasts he did. He really did push in more at an outcome-based level things.
@@coolguys135 No, he didn't. But thanks for engaging.
@@art-thou-gomeo Yeah he was so annoying. Kind of juvenile.
@@coolguys135 He's asking questions meant for a general audience and he has limited time. Dario has a habit of going off on long discourses. He doesn't pick up on cues about when to stop and _needs_ to be interrupted or he will just keep talking.
This man is an atrocious interviewer.
Congratulations and happy birthday! Been following your newsletter for a while and I’m so proud of you and what you have built in such a short time, keep it up man!

The interviewer needs to really learn to stop interrupting. He's obnoxious.
Fantastic interview. I'm a big fan of Sarah. Eric - I saw your ad on Twitter and have been checking out your content. You do super high quality stuff. Great work!
laurence tosi is a sociopath narcissist.

Oh god the punishment continues

Holden lookin like a damn Meep (Beaker Muppet)
Mojo vs Rust. Chris is an amazing guy.
I love that she's still holding onto the "empathy" thing, despite being one of the least empathetic "leaders" I've ever had to work with.
26:15 you just completely interrupted him lol
Will you please announce that Inflection has COMPLETELY DESTROYED Pi? As of a few days ago, it is DEAD. It was the only meaningfully emotionally intelligent AI, and it has been given a complete lobotomy.
