Seems easy. What did you do with the extra material inside the collar where it’s tacked at the end ? Iron it down ? Will it bulky? Asking because I would like to try this on a real denim sweatshirt collar but afraid of bulkyness inside the collar. Thoughts?

Great solution. Now you have a tiny zipper. Better off just throwing it away at this point.

What a clever person you are , have thrown away things, with a broken zip many times.

I’ve been a professional seamstress for 50 + years. These ‘tricks’ don’t always work and by the time you’ve fiddled around you might just as well put a new zip in.

Me parece una chapuza.

I'm not sure why you didn't unstitch the bottom of the zipper and then undo the bottom zipper stop to insert the slider over the two sides of the zipper teeth, then crimp the bottom zipper stop into its original position followed by sewing the zipper back into place?

Désolée mais avant de couper le fil ,vous devez faire la finition a l envers c est à dire ,derrière la fermeture. Sur une fermeture comme la vôtre aussi courte ,la raccourcir encore ce doit être compliqué de le mettre ou l ôter si le pantalon est ajusté,au risque de la casser de nouveau .Video inutile et pas de bon conseil.La solution est de decoudre jusqu bout et repasser dans les crochets ,puis recoudre.= travaille correct.

Can't remember seeing the idea with a fork - thankyou! If you take requests, any idea how to reliably patch a merino wool vest/T-shirt with holes under the armpits ? Merino garments are sooo comfy and all-season-useful and I can't bear to throw them away till they are completely in tatters - plus they are extremely expensive. I don't think a piece of cotton cloth would work, and I suspect using cotton thread would also not be a good patch. One final congratulation- your placement of the camera showing how the fork fits and how you thread things is much better than other sewing repair vids I have seen, where they do a great job of repairing but leave me confused as to how the stitch is to be done... because they don't get the camera close enough to the action.
