      You need to make the ad inside of the ad manager specifically to get rid of the form. It's more detailed and can get a little confusing in there but just read everything slow, take it step by step and you should be able to figure out what's going on.

      I have the 100mm Sigma macro lens, but I don’t think it's a necessity. I don’t even bring it to weddings because I believe that my 24-70mm and 85mm combo is the perfect wedding kit. In fact, I can get really nice and sharp ring shots with my 85mm, even though I know the 100mm macro is a beast of a lens.

    #4 is a must. I have saved many group photos by taking multiple shots by grabbing eyes or faces from the person who blinked, looked away, or forgot to smile. One instance in particular grandma could not pose in any of the group shots, but as everyone was breaking up she laughed and smiled, click, that went into the final shot and to date is the only photo anyone has of her smiling.

    For me your rules are more common sense than controversial and it is sad that some people who seemingly don't know better would argue about that. Sure other photographers might have a different style and might find another way that works, but generally I would say your video is good advice.

      Trust me, these “rules” are very controversial!! I’ve had discussion with other photographers/friends about that, watched some other photographers work on a wedding day, and also watched other wedding photographers online talk about it- in fact i received an newsletter email last week with a list of things this wedding photographer (she’s on TH-cam as well i think) wished she knew when she started out and -I gasped- it was literally the opposite of what i mentioned on my video 😂

Then! I have a blog post titled "The Bridal Party Idea for Weddings is Outdated." So that's how I've been able to book clients with no bridal party. The film? On the priceless you showed a price list (not sure if it's your or someone else's) saying three rolls of film. Again, because I use film almost exclusively to photograph an entire wedding, it seems like a joke to even mention said photographer is going to use ONLY three rolls. It's like why even mention it.

      Now I’m confused, did i not explain that on the video? Sorry, I’ll look into posting another video about fb ads and include all that :) Location is where (not as broad as the whole country, and not as niched as a specific region/suburb. Think like a couple of cities) potential clients will be based at. My case: gold coast, brisbane, sunshine coast, byron bay :) The algorithm will study and see what city will get you the best results and start focusing more on that specific city- and your budget will be spent more on this city too. My case: the algorithm was bringing in too many leads from brisbane and the sunshine coast, but I’d rather have more leads from gold coast and byron bay, so i just removed brisbane and sunshine coast from my targeting location, so the algorithm can focus more on gold coast and byron bay :) hope that helps

      Yeah, the weight and size of it are definitely an advantage! But there have been moments when I wished I had the 24mm. For example, group photos where I couldn’t fit everyone without taking more steps back or grabbing a chair to step up, the walking downs and exits narrow/small aisles, and capturing landscapes… It’s definitely my personal preference. I'd say you can work around it. I still have my Tamron 28-75mm, but I mostly use it for traveling because of its size and weight :)

    I'd love to know how you retarget and generate warm audience pool :)

    • @mjcarneiro
      @mjcarneiro หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve tested that out too, but the results weren’t great. I’ve actually done a Facebook ads mentorship, and the mentor explained that I’m better off running campaigns with a broad audience, without retargeting, because: The Facebook algorithm adapts and learns the best people to send the ads to in order to get the best results based on the category you chose (e.g., leads). With the same campaign, it automatically retargets those who have engaged with your ads. If you start narrowing down your audience too much, like using just the retargeting custom audience, your audience reach will be much smaller. This way, the Facebook algorithm will struggle to deliver the content and won’t have enough data to learn who are the actual potential leads. When the algorithm struggles to work effectively, the cost per lead (CPL) ends up being more expensive. So again, I only run one campaign for traffic purposes and one campaign for getting leads. I avoid retargeting and niching down to specific audiences because Facebook will learn for you. Facebook ads change all the time, and I learned this from my Facebook ads mentor. What works now might not work next week, but this has been working for me. I keep getting 10-15 leads a week ($10 a day), so I’ll keep doing that until it stops working eventually. Hope that makes sense 😂🫶

    It's very true. I'm a wedding photographer as well. I don't do a lot of them but what I try and do is not make it about me. You need to immerse yourself in the day and be discreet and just be an addition to the day not be the focus of it as photographers we can be very self-centred about the work we do and that's fine but we need to remember that it's not about us on that day. It's about them, good video and good advice

    • @mjcarneiro
      @mjcarneiro หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s very hard, because as creatives we don’t want to miss the opportunity of getting good photos, but- like you said- we need to remember that it’s not about us, and do what’s best for the couples 🤍

      In other words, we're just the hired help. A simple concept 95% of photographers can't seen some understand.

    Have not had much luck with qualified clients. what strategy do you use currently? Engagement campaign , leads? how do you filter clowns , people with out money or with zero intention to hire a photographer?

    • @mjcarneiro
      @mjcarneiro หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use leads now, like I explained on the video! I don’t filter people out of any campaign. It definitely attract some wrong people (like automatic scam messages, old guys, etc) but I actually did a 1:1 mentorship and the guy said that this is completely normal, and that the fb algorithm adapts over time. The results speak for itself, i keep getting 10 good and legit leads a week with this exact campaign. Watch my video again and follow the steps; give it a couple of weeks to test it out and see how it goes!

    very nice and good information.. Thankyou.. how to set up flash with Sony A7iv and how to setup white balance? Thanks

    • @mjcarneiro
      @mjcarneiro หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you :) you don’t need to set up flash with the camera. Just put the flash on the camera, and switch to TTL mode which means you don’t need to change anything else a part from the camera settings (just perfect the white balance and exposure on the camera and the flash light will adapt automatically). Does that make sense?

    I loved your video, I was trying to take these paparazzi photos and you were the only video that made it clear, I would like to know what adjustment you make to your flash to take this type of photo, I would be very grateful for your help, I'm doing a wedding in July and I really wanted to take some photos like this

    • @matheusrondao2753

      My flash is a Godox 860, what do you say in the video

    • @mjcarneiro
      @mjcarneiro หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just connect the to the camera and set the flash to TTL mode, which means you don’t need to adjust any settings on the actual flash, as it will be adjusted automatically based on your camera settings; it’s very straightforward! Does that answer your question? I hope you have an amazing wedding in July :) And you have a good flash, just for the paparazzi look, don’t use the bouncer or the diffuser, just point it straight to your subject- have a test before the wedding so you feel confirmation using it!

    All nice advice, well done ! For folks with a long path in imagery, this is nothing new but it may be very useful for those lost when watching a flash-light of any kind. Just one advice, from my side this time : 4:14... never do that. Never. Ever. Really and seriously. If once you get the opportunity to see what the base of such a flash-light is composed of, in a 1/10th of a second you'll understand why you must absolutely avoid doing this. If you don't get this chance, I just write this one word... an easy one : fragile. Very. Happy photos, and happy weddings !

    • @mjcarneiro
      @mjcarneiro หลายเดือนก่อน

      This video is definitely for those learning how to use flash. Not sure how TH-cam algorithm reached such a pro like yourself 🤔 And what did i say at min 4:14? Remove the bouncer? I don’t get it.

      @@mjcarneiroI appreciated this video a lot! And for beginning photographers, I agree with you! I love the godox system by the way! And will do a similar video in future on my photog channel! I was confused by our friend’s comment also. But what I think he meant was at 41 seconds? To avoid picking up the camera and flash by the flash - in case the weight of the camera, snaps or dislodges the bottom of the flash unit! (My V1 has broken before, but from a different way!) sending good vibes!
