A ramble on the bogs at Ballydermot
Ireland has no National Park on raised bog habitat. Our chance has come to put that right. In this video, a few of the wonders on offer on two of the bogs in the region are sampled. Like the video to express support for the proposed National Peatlands Park.

Brimstone on Common Knapweed

This unnarrated clip shows a freshly emerged, pristine male Brimstone feeding on Common Knapweed growing at a wood edge in County Kildare. This butterfly will not seek a mate in the year of his birth but will delay mating until the following spring after hibernating in dense vegetation in woodland. This means he will be about eight months old before he mates. Who said butterflies live for a day?
