    I realize this video is four years old now, but I’d like to know why the manual for these transducers (SN2010) say to use 2.4 oz or 71ml of antifreeze in these bases? Surely the installer here used more than that suggestion AND I just had a technical support rep from Faria tell me to use more than that. What’s the deal?

    Great video and information. It would be helpful to have a rough idea of the total cost of the various components that were required to interface to the older dual diesel boat. And also approximately how many man hours. Also, are you looking at having distributors, and/or installers in various cities? Thanks.

    Great tutorial but one thing, never use petroleum jelly on O rings. Some rings will hold up, most will decay. You should use plumbers silicone lube.

    • @jonsmith7667
      @jonsmith7667 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have your some and most mixed up, Vaseline will not hurt any rubber or Viton material ( the most common O-rings) I think you would be hard pressed to find very many O-rings that petroleum jelly will hurt. Your recommendation of a di-electric silicone grease is a good one though you are almost always safe to use that stuff.

      Assuming that the location of the transducer is in a spot on the hull where there are no air bubbles in the fiberglass, yes. The only loss you might incur would be a the far reaches of the transducer's capabilities.
