The center tap is the center of the phases. Meaning it's where you 6 volts is coming from. Without the center tap you would only have a +12 and a -12 and no return for the current to make 6 volts. Diodes are as you explained. They only allow current to glow in 1 direction. You can also use them to construct a rectifier to change ac to dc.
Your voice is so soothing...
Great video. Recently cleaned my carb for an Ariens 24 SHO. It wasn’t anywhere near as dirty. Using carb cleaner spray was good enough. But for this terribly dirty carburetor why not use a carburetor cleaner bath and spray?
I am not so proficient at this to know all the best ways to get it done. I just know one way to get it done that works. Still learning!
Thanks Duby. See you next time.
Thanks for watching!
Where can one buy new cells?
If you have a battery store in town, that’s a good place to start. Otherwise, if you search the comments, you should find a link to some that I recommend from Amazon.

Nice
I removed the piston and I can't for the life of me get it back in. It's an anti clockwise thread. Can anybody give me advice?
The link for the spot welder is no longer active. Do you recommend another one?
Thanks for the video. I opened my schumacher and just ohmed out the red and black output leads. One would not carry electrons. The break was right at the alligator clip, under the two metal tabs that are bent over the wire just before the wire is soldered to the clip.
Very nice! That’s my favorite repair.
Ive had bad luck with Schumacher chargers. I've bought 3 or 4 of them. I didn't throw them away. So i can try to fix them. Thanks!
Good luck!
Mine twist but doesn’t go in
So how long do you have to charge it if you have to charge like that for it to have a full charge?
That depends on the amperage of your charger and the capacity of the battery inside the jump box. For the battered charger to detect your battery, the voltage must be somewhere between 11- 13 V typically. More sophisticated chargers may pick up the battery if the voltage is lower. Assuming you have a one amp charger and also assuming that your battery inside the jump box is rated roughly 20Ah I would charge the jump box for roughly one full day. Give or take another half-day. Not knowing what jump box or charger, you have, this is about as specific as I can be.
For those of you like me that couldn’t turn with hand tools…..Oreilys(and I suppose other auto stores) rents the tool kit for free. I can tell you, it was even difficult to turn with the kit…no way hand tools would work in my case. Good luck!
Would a 12v 18 amp battery work as well? Constantly beeps when I hook it up?
Not sure what the constant beeping is about. Could be that it needs to be charged? This battery size ranges from 18 AH to 21 AH in sealed lead acid. Any of those amp hours will work. Many come with 18 AH standard from any box store.
I know this video is old, but can confirm this fix is the same on an Arien Compact 24. Thankyou for the tutorial.
Looks like your piston boot didn't retract just like mine!
THANKS! Me and my brother were completely stumped on his rear brakes.
Thanks Duby4life. Strange but I was thinking of this channel a couple of days ago but I couldn't remember the name. I don't think I'm getting notified. Gonna see if I missed any gardening content.
@alpetterson9452 if you click on the bell by he “Subscribe” button, it may fix that for ya. 🙂 It’s been a little while since we did any gardening videos, but my wife and I started chatting about that just last night. We’re hoping to start a variety of things in the greenhouse possibly as early as late February.
@@Duby4life Yes. I had a look. I also wondered how the chick situation worked out. You know the little guy who was sick. It may be a bit late to say it now but Happy New Year to you and your family.
Sadly, that little guy did not make it. Fortunately, we had very few issues with raising the rest of the flock through processing day. Thank you! Happy new year to you and yours as well!
Im currently doing this right now to my 2010 Volkswagen Jetta and it keeps rotating but not actually compressing inside
I luv my jump n carry 660. Had same issue but went with lithium 30ah battery as im old and it weight half of OE battery and has a lot more amp boost as well.
Very helpful thanks 👍😎👍
Asian markets usually sell these racks in multiple shape and sizes.
5:47 The aluminum heatsink take out the heat from the diodes that you soldered onto the metal plate. Nothing more fella. THE transformer is wound in a way that the charger only need two diodes. Otherwise you would need a full-wave rectifier which is more money for the manufacture to pay for making the item. Center tap refers to the way the output side of the transformer is wire wound fella. You did well and good luck learning too. Have yourself a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Peace vf 😀😀😀
Hi i replace al 4 batteries and got voltage in all pins from battery but charger blinks red, any suggestion? any Idea how to troubleshoot the bcm? And what the pins with letters do?

Are you sure your charger works properly? I believe one of them is a temperature sensor. That one or another one may also serve as an overcharge protection. To be honest though, I’m not sure.
@@Duby4life Thanks for the reply, Yes the chargers accepts other known good batteries, well I think I’m dealing whit a damaged board all 4 original cells where completely dead. Thanks once again.
Wow man! God bless you. You have 0 idea how helpful this was. Am struggling financially and can’t afford to bring my car to the mechanic. Long story short. Thank you very much!!!❤️ Love from Aruba.
Life saver 😭🔥
Thanks alot pal.
im trying but the brake piston won't compress even as it turns. (2020 Nissan Sentra sv)
shouldn't that been the FIRST THING you inspected?? instead of tracing wires and all that BS
Often times, it is the simple things that are overlooked. You would be amazed how many battery chargers are brought to me that have simple problems.
I've been searching for 2 days and this was more helpful and answered my question over all the "professionals" posting. Simple and got rid of my headache
If I have an Intellishock 60, can I upgrade the battery? Is there anything different about the other internals that would be affected?
According to the manufacturers specifications, you should have 1x 12V 12AH battery in the black and blue box. You could I certainly upgrade that to the 14AH which is the same size as a 12AH. If you remove all of the foam pads in the box, you may be able to fit something larger. Typically the circuit boards in things like these can handle a little bit higher amperage than what they come with, but when I tried to quadrupole the amperage, it heated the circuit board up to a temperature I was not comfortable leaving unattended.
@@Duby4life That's super helpful. Thank you!
Neither you nor your commenters explain the charging system.
That’s outside the scope of what I’m familiar with at this time. I’m line of work currently consists of testing and diagnosing batteries and their issues. While I see a good deal of the cars that the batteries go to, it’s infrequent to see the bikes.
Lmfao i was going INSANE trying to compress it lol this worked a treat! Thanks for the video! 2003 Mazda 6/atenza
Glad it helped!
Can I use the batteries you recommended in an intellishock 120? (It’s not a 120X)
I recommend opening up the case, noting how the wires are arranged, then removing the battery. There should be amperage ratings on the side of the battery. If it says 12 amp hour (12AH), then yes, the same battery will work in there.
A new carb is 60 bucks why not just replace it?
You can certainly do that. Some folks like to clean up the one they have. Others like to throw away and replace.
It's painful to watch some men work.
Haha! Tell me what I did wrong??
@@Duby4life Why didn't you disconnect the wire from the spade terminal before attempting to solder? The wire acts like a heat sink making soldering difficult if not impossible, also, you could've just attached it with a small nut and bolt, quick and easy. Another thing, heating with a propane torch would've accomplished your soldering job. Next time THINK through the problem, build it in your head before you begin. Good luck, take care, don't give up, if it was easy everyone would do it. Peace.
Are you sure they are 18650 LiFePo4 cells? How can that small battery be both ion and iron?
The plastic piece is your main jet
Had this same jump box but threw it away because it stopped working. Wish I would have seen this video before I did.
You are not alone! A lot of folks just get rid of them not realizing the battery is the main component and is replaceable.
i got so fucked off with a tired caliper i just bought a new one fucking thing just would not free up the hand brake./ emergency brake
Could I reuse the original tabs to spot weld?
If they’re in good shape. If there are weak or thin points in between the welds on one battery and the welds on the attached battery, it will act like a fuse and burn up if more amperage passes through than it can handle. If you can’t obtain new tabs, you may be better off soldering on short pieces of wire in their place. 16GA should be sufficient. Possibly even more thick than necessary.
@ thank you
Awesome tutorial
Bro saved my life.. Thank you
It is specially designed to eliminate vibration.
Greetings 🙏 I lost my battery charger for this type of snap on battery My question is is there any way to charge them universal? Like DYI charger type? Would greatly appreciate your response Thank you
There may be some after market chargers out there that will be less expensive than buying a new one, but I would use them with caution and supervision. Without using more expensive equipment, or dismantling the plastic case with each recharge, your options are limited. I think on the long run, you’re going to be better off buying the right replacement charger. In short: I would buy a replacement snap on charger for this.
Donde puedo conseguir el cable original para cargar ese tipo de máquina tengo una igual pero no tengo el cable gracias
Usually you can find the barrel plugs on Amazon. Matching up the mAh exactly isn’t critical. Anything between 400mAh and 1200mAh would be fine. The most important thing to do is make sure the barrel plug itself has the same polarity. Usually they have a diagram on it, indicating that the outside is either positive or negative, and the inside of the barrel plug is the opposite. Make sure that matches the diagram on your box if your box still has one. Alternatively, a low amperage battery charger (anything between 0.4A-1.5A) with alligator clamps can be clamped to the matching clamps of your jump box to charge the battery inside your box. I have another video on that on my channel if you’d like to try that way.
Is this battery compatible with the jnc770R? Can your dead battery be refurbished ???
I only did a brief search online, but the battery in the JNC770R appears to also be the size of an 18-22Ah battery (you can find this battery in varying Ah, but all are the same size). Typically, if *I’m* getting rid of it…there’s not much left of it.. even if there was a little life left in a battery like this, you want reliability in a jump starter, thus a strong, new battery.
Love the jump!
Bro just connect it to your car battery while your car is running, it will charge it and charge it quickly too, just don't leave it on to long!!
That may raise the voltage temporarily, but it will not charge the battery even half a volt without driving 100 miles with it attached. I appreciate the idea though!
