Once upon a time, a little boy was born. In the tall tall grass wind was blowing and water was rising. But in the distance, there was a roar, and smoke. THICK black smoke. Then, the clouds started to come in and before I could say googoogaga a strait pipe diesel was doing donuts and that was the day I new I would drive a truck.

Woke up to some parking tickets so had to start The truck after 5 days it being parked

Not much to say, we had to had a blown Dodge Ram Ecco diesel and I made a mistake with the measurements but we made it work. Good thing the guys that helped us also broke down and where there ahah.

We're down in the lower Midwest, STL. We have 3 main plow trucks that are 7.3 powerstroke. Three additional 7.3 powerstrokes with plow mounts if we need backups. You can't beat the durability of these trucks. You just got to make sure you clean the underneath the sprinkler or power washer because they do Rust out
It’s starting to show her age now… but the truck runs smooth she still feels tuff on the road. You don’t even see other manufacture trucks out there it’s all fords the 7.3, when I do see an old truck.

U-HAUL representative here! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Those tires are hanging off the back and if you hit a bump or something that causes the truck to move on the AT, it will cause your truck to fall off and potentially damage the ratcheting straps. There's a reason why U-HAUL's auto transports cannot support trucks and there's a reason why we can't rent these out to you if you're towing a truck on it. Yeah, it drives onto the AT, but the wheels hang off. Which is a big safety issue.
Depending on how far you had to go it should be fine. There is another video of a guy doing the same thing with an F150 and driving 8 hours that way with some bolts through the holes in the floor to lock the ramps in place.
Did you have any issues on the ride at all as far as truck moving or slacks sliding back out ?

What size Sierra were you pulling that with. 1500, 2500, etc? did you get up to full speed like the hwy? only curious since i need to haul a 4Runner across a few states with my 4x4 Sierra crewcab... want to make sure it's stable.

Thanks for your reply. What's the longest you can keep cranking it over for on a really cold morning before the battery starts to drain? Do you find it very inclined to stall when the engine's really cold?
When I crank it on a really cold morning or night I have to pause because the starter will over heat. But a good 20 minutes before it starts too drain
Owned a7.3 like that worst 4wd I ever drove always nosed down and stuck just a boat anchor .
I plow with this truck now and yes when she’s stuck it’s a pain too get her out

How long does it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Does it take longer when it hasn't been used for several days?
In a 24 hour span it will take for ever to start if it’s really cold it will almost take the whole battery sometimes I build a little fire under the oil pan to heat the oil
