Madam Leota's seance salon is my Halloween decoration this year, and I'm so excited! I've always been facinated with her since I was 5 years old. Grew up near Disneyland and visited her often. I'm just north of Spokane now.
Fun Fact: Madame Leota is recognizable as Eleanor Audley who’s better known as Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty and Lady Tremaine/Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella alongside with guest appearances in Desilu sitcoms like I Love Lucy!
Can you tell me where the source of this footage can be found? I always love vintage official/promotional Disney park footage - I didn't know they made any promo videos for the Haunted Mansion!
Fun Fact: Whenever her actress's daughter goes on the ride with her children, she says "There's grandma, say hi to grandma." And people look at her like she's a complete weirdo.
She had the most effective voice for giving one a chill... Eleanor Audley wonderful character actor, anyone remember her on I Love Lucy ?? She was the wife at the country house who said -- "we have a refrigerator for that " in response to where to stash the Ice. Lucy, Fred and Ethel pretending to be gangsters... Classic ! Thank you for upload
Here's a great idea for halloween ...put a large screen monitor (with this looped ) in a window facing out of the house. Shut off the lights in the house. Turn the volume up high on the large screen tv monitor and scare the kiddies as they approach the house. Sounds like fun!
The ride is lone big loop- no one part of the ride can break down. What usually causes the slowdown/stops is a handicapped person getting on and off the ride. You just slow down/stop wherever you happen to be when they are at the exit/entrance. If an actual part of the ride stops working, then the ride is emptied and the whole thing shuts down. @@RobertPWills Also people that decide to use flash photography when they're clearly told not to can cause a slow down/stop. They have to stop the ride and find the guest and inform them about not using flash photography.
@@RobertPWills when I was a kid in the 1970s we got stopped on the incline going up to the attic. hahaha It was definitely some bigger issue as it lasted way too long (but being a little child in must have seemed much longer!)
I love the Ghost Host. It's such a shame that his lines here weren't used outside of twelve years. Prior to '95, subsequent to 2007. Madame Leota has no introduction, and the scene has less context. This includes "...They all seem to have trouble getting through. "
Apparently those lines were switched on and off on certain years, more so since Haunted Mansion Holiday has been around, and the story is from WDI, they actually don't want the lines in. And I can understand why, kinda; With them in, The Ghost Host goes, "Shhh, listen..." urging you to take in the atmosphere...and then moments after, starts blabbing. xD;
@@jade_ottsel I honestly think the bilingual safety spiel is the real reason. Together they are longer than the E only one, and by the time we reach the endless hallway, we already have the line. It throws everything off, and these particular lines don't work without the ones prior to it. It was timed perfectly before, each scene except the attic and cemetery having clear purpose, those two being the only ones GH is absent in.
@@TheNotverysocial ah, that makes sense. Imagine how much better the ride would be if Disney removed the bilingual warning being played in the DoomBuggies, and instead they played it in the loading zone.
The Young Family is that true? It DOES sound the same. I was told once that this woman was actually a secretary in the Disney office. They weren't finding a model or actress that they liked and they asked this secretary to say the lines. She did a great job in so they kept it. That's the story I had heard.
+The Young Family Eleanor Audley did NOT do the voice of Queen Grimhilde ( *i.e.* Snow White's evil stepmother). Her voice was done by Lucille La Verne.
Not a loop.

I feel like I am at the Haunted Mansion in the Stretching Room 😅
She is so creepy 😂

The actress who is playing Madame Leota is not actually Eleanor Audley -- only the vocal track!! :)
@@therealJamieJoy Someone was the face and She dubbed it.
Yes, it was one of the Imagineers!@@macmahon_matt
Leota Toombs, an amazing artist and Disney Imagineer

That sounds like Eleanor Audley who bought Cinderella's stepmother Lady Tremaine to chilling vocal life.
That is her. Disney imagineer Leota Toombs was used for visual purposes.
@@nostalgik._She also voiced Maleficent
Kinda odd that this video just takes the same segment and repeats it for 10 minutes. Once would do.
the purpose is so you can use it for Halloween or to make a crystal ball prop.
Man, I wish I had Paul Frees' pipes!
She a catch! I'm head over heels for her! I would marry if i could.
It's keeps repeating lol
This was a make up testing I guess
Madame Leota is Disney MAGIC !

Someone ‘s been watching The Imagineering Story !
I love that !!! She sounds awesome 😎 💜💕💖
If Disney+ makes a haunted mansion anthology series madame leota could be the host like rod serling, crypt keeper
her face is leota toombs but her voice is by eleanor audley
“That’s your grandmamie”
This audio is used at the House of Frankenstein in Lake George NY. So cool to find this
It’s from the haunted mansion at Disney world

This was played by imagineer Leota "Tooms" Thomas.
By both, really. One did the voice, the other provided the voice.
She played Lady Tremaine and Maleficent.
Can Disney make a movie about Madame Leota and cast Jennifer Morrison? Because the resemblance between her and Leota Toombs is UNCANNY. 😳

Rip!!
Is this the same woman who plays Evil Queen or Maleficent?
BoneStudios15 The voice is, but not the face.
The voice of leota was provided by Eleanor Audley, who also voiced Maleficent and Lady Tremaine
you guys know this part at the haunted masion the ride broke down so we had to listen to this a lot of times

I've decided that once a year every Halloween, I'm posting Madame Leota's spooky rhymes on my Facebook wall during the 13 Days of Halloween.
