In x4, if you play with X you get Double as the boss and if you play with Zero you get Iris as the boss in this phase of the challenge, that is, the way you play it influences the entire story until the end by changing only these bosses in particular.

I wish this was extended.

since iris and double were love and betrayal in challenge mode, i remember the time when i beaten mega man x4 as both, x and zero, i thought it was a good story, but it was just sucky that iris died and double was never a real good guy.

The fact that this uses X4 voice clips (from that game's QUALITY English dub) for Iris and Double while using X's voice clips from X5 and X6 (which have no English voices) is incredibly jarring.

I just finished this. Hard battle. I took out Iris first so I didn't have to deal with colonel. Exactly 8 Saber slashes she releases her punk orb. I then immediately switched to rising fire and hit it five times. I would intentionally take damage on Iris's bulky body to get more rising fire shots in after her beam attack ended. She went down with three pixels left. Fortunately Double on his own doesn't spawn anyone and his attacks are easy to dodge.

I think another part of it was that Advent wasn't as exploration-based as ZX was. Advent just felt way too linear compared to the previous game. I think it's kinda like X6 was, where the levels just couldn't accommodate everyone; Playing as normal X in that game was a no-no because Ground Scaravich's level could render itself actually impossible to beat in that form, and there wasn't much incentive not to play with armour. I guess Advent's similar to that.

The thing is when you have access to a lot of forms, you'd want to use them as much as you can. Most of the forms were unsuitable for many game environments in the game, kind of made it faulty in some aspects. Music is usually the strongest point in these games, though.

Agh, this shows how much I now about Zero 4. I didn't know about that hidden life or Sub-Tank in that first stage. And I should know these kinds of things, because I play Zero 4 rather often. As for ZX Advent, I don't think it was that bad, just not that great. I'm going to say that I felt a lot of the soundtrack was superior to ZX's in that game, and I didn't quite mind the boss forms, I just had really wished the boss forms were more useful in the game itself and less clunky.

Yeah, since I finally got my new PC, I tested out the Roxio Game Capture and it worked like a charm. I should note that at the start youtube messed up the video a bit; it looked like a camcorder recording. IT should be better now, so be sure to check it again.
