love the master dark14
Giant Beat 4life! Great hihats!
Very rude to have music playing while Ian is speaking.
For the love of God… Whose idea was the background music?🙉
BEAUTIFUL interview. Not only is he IAN PACE, Drum LORD, but also a wise, humble and sensitive man. Vielen Dank aus Venezuela!
Beautiful Ian!
Love you Jan paice da italia 🇮🇹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Turn the fucking music down so I can hear the man talk!!!!!!
This is by far the best way to compare cymbals. Great !
Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Anything sound edge is always better …
They have something special for sure !
He sounds like Blackmore.
Maybe Blackmore sounds like Ian 🥳
what is that music in the background doing there? to create ambient or to annoy?
2 páiste 16 master crashes used as hihats would cost as much as my whole drum set!
Fun idea, well done video!
RUDE all the freekin way
It definitely has it purposes ! ;-)
But where are the hats laying on the side awaiting the swap?!
LOL, there in that other video. th-cam.com/video/rpeyLgd42c0/w-d-xo.html
the 16" Modern essential crash Bottom & 16" masters Crash are the Bad Boys in that lineup
Cool!
awesome, youtube dudes do hardly ever open hihat shootout, but for me as metal drummer its a critical
Interested in which one you prefer as a metal drummer. Let me know.
@@jan-krisvinken8077 Best ones for me are Giant beat and Formula 602 14 with sound edge. I have read the metal drummers usually choose heavier hats, but i preffer medium. Feel during the real drumming is also very important.
@@JVitezslav Never thought about a sound edge in that setting. Nice !
Ian still stands with rich I don't care how much the band feels this is the drummer he has. Played with since 1967 so yes I believe they will play again
Hi.. I'm looking for bright cymbal sound from paiste, can you suggest me? Btw, your drum sound are amazing !!
I think giant beat 14inch could be a winner. Fresh and bright but not to heavy. 602 sound formula (not the modern essentials, but the “old“ ones) can be a winner too. Let me know which one you picked. (And thanks for the the compliment on the drum sound)
@@jan-krisvinken8077 and which one is brighter compared to the 2002 series?
@@aditdrummer in my opinion giant beat is the brightest. And not as heavy as 2002. Check them in the sound room of the Paiste website.
To give you an idea. When working with loops that contain shakers, I choose darker hats because my experience is that after treatment by foh people, it is sort of in the same frequency range. Hope that helps.
602 SE. Wow!
Yeps :-)
He's one of the Best!
Paicey Bonzo and Neil Peart best drummers of all time...oh i forgot Buddy Rich ..inspiration for all
Ian is like when Richie comes back then fine cause he doesn't let drama stand in the way of his bro band
I remember hearing Ian play on vinyl and just thinking how the hell does he do this? He has always stood out amongst his peers, his jazz/rock style has always fused so well with a variety of music styles so adaptable I remember meeting him in 1982 at a 'kitchen' in Newcastle and he took the time to sign stuff and was so humble and genuine ....just sublime
The only one of them who has been through every rendition of Purple. Saw him from the front row last year and he still has it. Love how he's so appreciative of everything he has unlike a fair portion of music biz people who demand more. He's also helped produce a few albums and was part of giving Elf and Dio help along with Roger. Much respect and well earned.
Brilliant drummer and an inspiration.
I love this guy.
Icon !
Those 15" Formula 602 ME sounds heavenly. I own the 14" version and i wish i would've spent the extra cash for the 15".
It's my desert island hat, without any doubt ! Thanks for watching
9:54 12:30 Look at his cup. Don't blink.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about? Paice
Paicey is a class guy 100% ..not to mention one of my top 2 favorite drummers of all time
his performance on "lay down, stay down" [Burn] always blows me away. supurb drummer.
Could someone have turned-off the BS music in the background?
Yes the background music was very annoying but I truly believe Ian Paice is one of the greatest drummers I've ever heard He's so smooth with his rolls just makes it look effortless That's true born in talent
Annoying background music!🤨
Sorry...and 2002???
Ian has plenty of interesting & life affirming things to say. Why have you ruined it with that background music. You’ve taken something positive & negated it.
Ian told me after the interview that the background noise shouldn't be an issue for people with a positive attitude.
one of the greatest Rock drummer ever !!!! (definitely in my top 5)
Great drummer way underrated and always seems like a good guy in interviews. Thanks for the great drumming Ian!!!!
i know this is about the hi hats but that kick drum sounds so good
Thanks, if I remember correctly this Brooklyn kick is captured with a re20. overhead is a Flea 49. That's it.
unlistenable with all that noise
shame about the hideous background music, I could barely listen. An interesting interview spoilt.
Where 15 2002 best hats in the world
Everybody knows already their the best ;-)
Hard to decide. That Big Beats are sweet. Formula 602 sound edge are my favorite definitely
great hihats and cymbal combinations
Nice
Thanks for watching.
Such a humble classy drummer his energy speed precision rhythm maintaining the beat at a high speed is unbeatable
This is magnificent! Can you please record another one video with same hi hats but all open?
Hey Ivan, thanks for watching. I've uploaded a new video with the same hats, but open, like you suggested. I hope this will help you chosen the right one for you. Feel free to leave a comment. Have a nice day ! (The Rude hat is not included in the new vid, but I added a 2002 Black beat to make it up ;-)
@@jan-krisvinken8077 Woow man, thanks A LOT! appreciate that! I'm going there immediately!
The 602's really stood out. I need to pick up a pair!
True, it's my all time favorite ! Thanks for watching.
@Mudge07 Thanks for watching the video. Sad to say I've already applied some post production background noise remover stuff. Defenitely an honour to meet this Giant.
