Oh, FFS.... Richard Branson's father gave him millions of pounds when he was 15 to do what he wanted with, so he hardly had to claw his way up from the gutter. And none of his companies have ever been in profit: like most other "entrepreneurs", he siphons money originating from borrowing out of his multiple enterprises to create his own personal wealth.

Cannot stand this ''greedy so called ''entrepreneurial' man ' - daddys money brought him where he is today and massively hiking up train fares for workers all over UK while he sits on his island, paid for by hard working rail passengers, island staffed , and 5000 a night mingling with so called ''royals'' on his ''private island'' in the sun - the world belongs to all on this planet - rail fares shot right up because of this man, now the franchise has been taken off him - haaaaaaaaaaaaa best news ever, no public should be forking out RIP OFF rail fares no public should be paying taxes to ''parish councils'' ''royals'' ''commonwealth'' what youv all been doing is STEALING OFF THE BRITISH PUBLIC FOR DECADES.

I would like to know if people are accessing your computer and things illegally like that when you try to do something. I have had similar experience but from home someone talking through the speakers and someone controling my mouse and seeing my email and I notice someimes in my messages have been accessed and someone has wrote something I didn't. Many different things my phone as well being controled and typing things when I am not tyiping and shuting down what do you do about that how can you find out who it is and why they are doing it. All I noticed was I wrote a famous person about helping me create something a video that would put out awarness and them to invest in a nonprofit so I could help people and then they made the video and thing about it but not mine and didn't let me have any part of it. Then also some writings I had I noticed then they were used for some things that I heard after that and still I got no credit as writer or anything. Also now have fake accouts in my name with some other girls photo don't know if it is that girl doing it or who but it has some of things I wrote on the account and photos of things I have been involved. What do you do about it.

i like David Suzuki, but he is out of his range here, and he is dead wrong. When an economist speaks of an "externality," it does not mean what Suzuki claims it means. They are not saying that it is irrelevant. In fact, quite the opposite. What they are saying is that there are costs and/or benefits caused by an economic action that do not accrue to any of the parties involved in the action, and that is understood to be a distortion that leads to sub-optimal results. The ideal in economics is to internalize externalities (i.e., have them impact upon the parties involved) so that the right decisions are made. That is the logic that lead to "sin taxes," carbon taxes, and various forms of regulations, for example. What Suzuki describes is not economics, but business. They are not the same. Sadly, it is an error that he has repeatedly made.

The root of the problem is organized ecological ignorance that dominates the Western industrial education, and especially the education of mainstream (neoclassical) economics. The ideological business centers and university departments in USA that determine the shape and content of economics education do everything to exclude ecology from their curriculum in order to produce ecologically illiterate economists and politicians, who typically have a blind belief in economic myths like technological progress, economic growth, green revolution, blue revolution etc.

The man's an utter scumbag. Virgin have acquired various NHS assets across the south of England ... He's also sued the NHS ... Various important info on what's been done to the NHS - 999call4theNHS, NHA Party, Dr Bob Gill ... Unless something is done to reverse the Tories underhand selling off, aided and abetted by the 'red Tories'... it won't be here for much longer. The 'Big Four' accountancy firms are already embedded inside the NHS ... PFI interest costing some trusts up to 75% of their allotted funding --- interest/payments. Media doesn't help - they only cover the symptoms, with ZERO coverage of the causes.

Why isn't Branson quite so generous towards some of his own workers? The sycophantic comments of some of you suggest that long ago you developed a strange reaction to famous businesspeople , as if part suspicious but, Americans especially, in awe in a way that suggests a cult. It is YOUR relative humbleness, YOUR hard work, YOUR agreement to regard a privileged man in higher esteem than perhaps your own family. All business literally need mean is busy-ness. Doing Something. Like sitting on a Caribbean island. If you end up in life less of a smarmy get than Tony Blair-like Branson you'll be a richer person in the grave than he is. He has relatively privileged origins. All he is is a kind of department store of businesses. The Virgin name is synonymous to me with deceitfully pretending to be David to other businesses' Goliath.
