I liked this - i've been trying to wrap my head around an art journal or a junk journal (?) and that they're different from a sketchbook in many ways. I think watching this comparing the same supplies and motifs and seeing how you totally stretch out when you got to the journal page made it apparent what one does with the journal. Just a chance to go anywhere and do anything, with no particular rules, but some helpful landmarks (center of interest) to make the page sing. so much *fun* and that;s the whole point!

I make cards. Some are what you'd probably consider conventional (printed papers, dies, maybe stamping, perhaps a little media for highlighting or colorizing a sentiment to match). Others are very much like I'd put in an art journal-the recipients for the more mixed-media artsy cards are a subset of the folks I send cards to. I enjoy dancing on the continuum between those extremes. (I have photos of some folks' collections of my cards where they display them, which is yet another gift.)

Hi Dina! I have had your large journal for years (hording it as we tend to do) and only just recently started working in it. Absolutely love it! Now I found out it is no longer available (I am in Europe) and i just can’t understand why. Now i discovered you have a channel so i can ask you why is it discontinued? I LOVE this! I’m trying to meld my new mi mixed media art loves with my original love of scrapbooking.

I truly enjoyed this video! I still do some scrapbooking from to time, but mostly for my 4 nephews and one niece's albums. You inspired me to do some stenciling with paint on my nephews' scrapbook page today. I love your old scrapbook pages and I remember seeing pages like that over 20 years ago and I thought, I could never never do that! haha And here I am lovin' art journaling thanks to you and Dyan. After watching this video I plan to make some artsy cards. Thanks a bunch Dina. 🥰
