Hi Bob, Thanks for your kind words. And for making an incredible synthesizer. Its a joy to program. Yeah I thought it'd be a good way to get to know the 3rd wave by limiting the sounds to just the VA waveforms and not using the Wave envelopes. I haven't even touched the wavetable sounds. Can't wait to see what's possible with them.

Ha - not even in the same universe, let alone ballpark. The Behringer actually looks and sounds decent, and is quite the bang-for-buck. But the 3rd Wave is orders of magnitude more synth, in several ways. For one, it goes WAY beyond a mere PPG clone. The VA side of it is nuts. It also has sampling, user wave import, a gorgeous FX section, Dave Rossum's Prophet analog filters, an Oberheim-style SV filter, and an architecture that's literally (4) completely separate synth engines, fed by 24 note polyphony. It might be the most flexible synth on the market in years.

@@JimDaneker It's just waaaaay too much of a good thing, and the price tag is right there for it. Dune 3, Hive 2, Waldorf Microwave 1 plugin all sound just as good for a few hundred dollars. Wavetable is a mostly digital application, after all.

But behringer wave is 1/4 possiblity of this synth

Thanks Jim. It'd be a tough one to let go off. Nothing out there really comes close to the sweetness of the 3rd Wave's sound. Some lovely sounds in your video of it.

@@SoundsDivine not sure how to even check tbh and can’t figure out how to update either. Surely if I’ve just bought it a few months ago I wouldn’t have too? I can play the presets but everytime I change the preset it stops me saying I need a newer version

Dont find the 45 keys that limiting. Had enough 37 note keyboards , where the limited number of keys is only a minor inconvenience. Sound wise. Yeah there's a big difference is the sound. The T5 is great for the money, space, features. With the P5 , I've never enjoyed playing a synth so much and also I found I've never written as much music so easily before. The tone is so engaging , so intimate. Its a thing of beauty.

Havent had a chance to play the P6. From the demos though, I'd say it sounds a little looser, less modern than the T5. For the money , the T5 is a far more interesting synth than the P6.
