I started watching anime in early high school, and as cliche as it is, Sailor Moon and DBZ were the first anime I watched, and my gateway into anime as a whole. Fast forward to when I started dating my husband..who insisted I watch Fist of the North Star (movie) and Ninja Scroll. I was so squeamish watching them, especially Ninja Scroll. After getting over the gore and sex, they are both on my favorite anime lists. Yes, being the typical female I am, I love Ninja Scroll more for the Jubei/Kagero storyline, but the whole thing is amazing, especially for its time. If you are like me and cannot take a lot of gore, I really think you should give Ninja Scroll a chance. There is something in it for everyone.
