Sewing a First Aid Kit (Velcro Tear Away)
Really a Great video! Will try it myself
Thanks, have fun!!
It's very impressive. It's true that there aren't many small edc pouches that use plastic zippers, right?
So clean!
Thank you very much!
Woooow! Can you share de pattern Bag And The type of thread and needle?! Tks
Inspiring. Nicely filmed and to-the-point narrated. Well done! Now I want to go and cut up some old jackets!
@@janmalmstrom7843 haha thank you!!
Hola la medidas para hacerlo me re gusto la idea
So cool to hear your step-by-step thinking with each step of the project!
Thank you!!
Whatever happened to the skid steer project?
I moved to Asia. I couldn't finish :(
can this just be scaled up to make it bigger?
theoretically it could. seam allowances cant change.
I love your videos, and the type of products you are making! Little tip I’ve seen in other TH-cam videos, don’t cut the thread between the pieces of webbing until you have finished sewing all of them, just lift the foot and slide the piece the inch or two. It’s faster and uses less thread!
That's a great tip! I'm always looking for new ways to save time.
Making one right now as an Xmas present
I love the tool bags!! I need to make some updated vids soon. Ive just been crazy busy lately.
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Great little project, thanks for sharing!
thank you
Liked! What kind of glue are you using to bond the foam to the cordura?
@@dragonmat123 thanks for watching! I experiment with different glues. I've found that hot glue is the best. Flexible. I only use it until I've sewn everything together.
Mantap bang
Very useful, Thanks from India
Thank-you!!
No background muzak. Way to go! Maybe your machine is not optimal for binding? The cylinder arm machine I use for binding have the binding attachment synchronized with the walking foot. And with the attachment from Evernice ( Mine is too ), the tape width needs to be exactly right for the attachment. Just a tiny bit off, and binding becomes almost impossible. Yours looks like it is a bit too narrow. It will not be equal on both sides, and the stitches miss the tape on the underside. It's frustrating. And I sometimes wish I could find that kind of binding material. it looks more flexible than the webbing I got.
Thank you. I think i could build a custom binding attachment better than anything I can buy
Nice video. Except for the "music". It does not bring anything to a sewing video. And for us who do not have english as a L1 language it is distracting. Thumbs up for content and execution, not for presentation. It's good enough to make me curious and look at one of your more recent videos. ;-)
Thank you.
THE BAG IS AMAZING, THANKS.
Thank You!!
awesome design! so inspirational. i'm a beginner sewer. these visuals are really helpful. especially seeing how you do the front and back and center separately and then put it all together.
Thank you. This is my favorite bag.
That is awesome!!!! I have the same duty belt, want to upgrade the same way. Can you supply the list of parts please. Ron
@@micp2387 I'm not sure of all the parts anymore. It was issued to me a while back.
Awesome im gonna try as well 👍
@humbert1010 that would be cool! I made a few
Just starting out. Great info and instruction . Thank you.
@@bobchronister3429 thank you :)
Binding has also been a journey for me. If nothing else, thank you for sharing your struggle.
@@bunnerkins thank you. It's such a pain.
love it! Definitely gonna do it. Which sewing cutter is that? Mine doesn't cut through anything :(
Hey. It's a Fiskars roller cutter. I got it from Walmart.
Absolutely love this pattern I've made a ton of these for friends and family. Such a great bag!
@FoaMandoCanada thank you soo much!!
Amazing work. A great resource for MYOG, the reminders about keeping things within seam allowance are great. How do you tell where to mark/cut relief cuts for the gussets? Do you just measure out based on how long each straight section is?
Yes. The cuts will be equal to the finished side length. Add the seam allowance to the thickness of the gusset.
Thank you! Looks like a seriously durable pouch.
thank you
Nice! You make it look pretty easy.😊
Thanks
Any advice if I can't afford a heavy duty machine like yours?
Sew thinner materials. And try and save money ;) if you want to make heavy duty projects you will eventually need a heavy machine.
Awesome video!
Thank you 😊
love your page. Not enough male sewists out there on yt. Thanks for sharing. Be well..
Thanks for watching! Much appreciated 🙏
Thanks for shairing this video, I'm dabbling in sewing more and more lately and it is nice to see protyping, looks straightforward and I was in the same vein as you which is nice to see. I love your first aid pouch, went to buy the plan for it and then saw the bundle package, very happy to get that and waiting on material to get to me to start first aid kits for Christmas.
That's awesome. A few ppl sent me pics of their finished projects. I tried to make them simple
I just found a cool channel. I am learning to sew, but I dont want to sew anything women related, tactical stuff is something im looking for and you do it! Subscribed!
@@Hantick haha thank you.
Loving you videos so far! I've been doing MYOG for about a year now, but i'm looking to go to a better machine. I've been using a regular Janome and its been ok but it struggles with Cordura and large bags I try and make. Do you know of any decent second hand commercial machines? I'm in the Toronto area. Thanks.
@nicholasfield4272 Thank you. It's difficult to get an affordable industrial machine in Canada. I've been in Asia for the last 7 month. It only cost about $200 for a used industrial machine. Crazy.
Nice channel
Thank you
Great project, subscribed hope to see more content soon, I'm gonna try to make my custum tactical side bag there is nothing better than made your own custum pocuhes to cover what you really need
Thank you
love your videos, i hope to see making of a tactical vest
I bought your pattern collection a few months back and have loved all of them.. even scaled up the duffle pattern to fit a massive concrete saw for work…
That's awesome! Thank you.
What is that mesh you used called, i.e., the "official" name so that I can source it for a project I'm working on? FWIW, this will be my 2nd project after I finish the one I'm now working on.
Thanks for watching brother. Cargo Mesh Netting with 1/4" holes. Nylon.
I've made a few of these in various colors, one of the best patterns I've ever purchased! Can't recommend enough!
@@FoaMandoCanada Thank you. I've seen pictures of your work. VERY nice 👌
Going to also make this. Just purchased the pattern. This should go well with a modified sling pack :)
@@blackrain02 Thank you :)
Where can I buy that bag
hey, I don't sell bags. I like sewing them for a hobby :)
Could show the corner sewing with a closer look and how did you measure the zipper to be exact fit?
Its a little difficult to explain in a comment. I don't use pre-made zippers so I can just trim it down if I cut it a bit long.
Not sure if you’re still reading comments but what sewing machine is that?
Hey. That's a juki ddl8700.
@@SewingProjects heck yeah thank you! Is it a standard 8700 or a 8700h?
Just a standard. I'm looking at buying one of those Singer Leather/denim portable machines.
Hey bloke I'm a new subscriber and just brought your booklet looks like a great little book carnt wait to try a pouch cheers frm perth
Thanks for the support brother! There's a couple of cool bags in the book 😀
nice one, can you sew a tactical vest?
I'd love to give it a try 😜
Nice project, love what you doing. Fancy giving a try doing a tactical chest rig? I would love to see your take on it.
That would be a fun project 😜
I dig your designs and your videos are inspiring. I'm looking to upgrade from a Bernina 830 Record. I was curious if you ever find yourself wanting/needing a walking foot machine for these types of projects? Thanks!
Hey. Thank you!! I love using a juki ddl8700 for most projects. I had a sailwright walking foot and a cylinder arm walking foot in the past. If I ever get another, I will choose the juki dnu1541 for sure 😀
@@SewingProjects I was worried you'd say that lol. I'm in an endless loop right now. Searching older industrials like the Consew 206RB on Craiglist and Marketplace, portable zig zags, all the way up to the 1541. Good deals seem to be hard to find.
@ChrisM-hk5gn it's hard to get good deals now. Sometimes you can find them cheap in estate sales because regular people don't know what they cost haha. I'm in Asia at the moment. You can get a used walking foot Machine for $200 CAD
