If my countertop is stone, can I replace drop in sink with undermount sink?

Mine is that popup one. But there is this rubber washer i dont know how to correctly put in. So the tub wont fully plug up. We have to keep adding water for my sons baths any help would be great. Even just a name for the piece so i could look that up.

Should the cam lock be tight after you turn it? Or the arrow just needs to be away from the bolt?

Thank goodness. I had the one you need to use channel locks to hold the base while you unscrew the top (has the hidden screw in it). I always thought it had a a lot on the bottom so I could never get it off. I live in a house of girls and I’m always fighting drain clogs.

Incredibly straightforward, Clive. Nice work. I am looking at one now that has a phillips head screw in the center of the top, but removing it does nothing at all. I checked the stem into the drain, and there is no screw in there either - just one small rivet head. If anyone has removed one like mine without breaking it, let me know. 😅 I just need to clear the drain. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Didnt work for me. Im going to drill out the top and force a screw into it and then put it into the chuck of a drill. Ive been spinning this thing for literal hours. No lock screw, tried prying with screwdrivers, everything...
