We all have waited patiently on God for clear and concise answers to prayer and at times it seems as if he does not hear us. In these times I am reminded to search the Bible for the times God did give signs and under what circumstances the signs were requested. In Isaiah 7:11 & Hebrews 4:16, it says we have every right to go and go boldly to the throne of God for our needs. In the Bible there are examples of others asking for signs in various ways, Moses in 33:12-18, Gideon in Judges 6:33-40 & Mark 8:11-12. However, in the Bible there were times when God said there would be no signs given in Matthew 12:39, 16:4 & Luke 11:29. As frustrating as it may be we are expected to keep the faith and continue to pray because it is a way to acknowledge your dependence on God. Personally speaking for myself, when God seems silent I ask myself is it His denial or His delay? Am I praying for the things that are not His will? Is God not responding because the only time I come to Him is when I am in need and my being in need brings me closer to Him? I am reminded of the saying that the “teacher is always silent during the test.” I know only Satan will tempt us, but God will and does test us! So, your answer may already be in your statement “have faith and be patient.” It is hard to do, but worth it! There are times when we must take the next step in faith and move forward even if God seems silent. A sign can be a gentle nudge in your spirit to a grand vision. Has God already given answers, but not in the manner you want? The story that comes to mind is the man who found himself drowning in the middle of the ocean and he asked God to rescue him. A boat, helicopter etc… were offered to help him, and he refused saying “I am waiting on God to rescue me!” After he drowned and got to heaven he asked God why didn’t you come?” The Lord told him I sent you several modes of transportation and you refused. So, sometimes we already have signs & answers, but because they are not in the exact form we ask, we may not recognize them or don’t receive them. I will stand in agreement with you in prayer for your needs, and I encourage you to keep praying and believing because God is real! I sometimes think of how God could get frustrated with having to constantly prove himself to his own creation. If being on God’s daily wake up list isn’t a sign in itself, I am not sure what is? Praise God His ways and thoughts are higher than our own according to Isaiah 55:8-9. God bless you and may God become evident in your life!
