this is so helpful thank you!!
Dumb question. I'm newbie with this. I know you found the center of your material and center of your project. But I'm confused on how you know your project is centered on your material. Do you have to have the project centered in lightburn screen and material centered on the bed? I'm confused
Thank you so much for doing all of this on your iPad. So helpful!
Great video!
Thank you! Finally an easy to understand how to create a single line design!
Great videos and tutorial good explanations 😊 I have a question do you have any videos that you can convert a font name for a neon sign on a CNC machine. Thank you in advance
Thank you for the content. I must say, your channel is one of THE best I've come across. Please continue the GREAT work! Will you formally creating a Lightburn course? That would be fantastic!
I appreciate the awesome feedback! I hope to have mini courses for LightBurn later this year!
This is indeed helpful, thank you very much!🤎✨️
Thanks for watching!
Hi Heather, I enjoy your style, it's quick, to the point, with the shortcuts and the reason. Thank you !
Yayy! I'm so happy it's helpful. Appreciate you!
Thank you Heather for a short and sweet lesson. I’m a subscriber. You’re Awesome.
Appreciate you! YOU'RE awesome! 🫶🏻
Thank you for the very informative video. In general what is the best font size ?
Thanks for watching! It really all depends on the font type, project size, etc. - thinner fonts often need to have a stroke added so they're not too fragile to cut so even if the font size is, say, 12... with the added stroke, it changes the overall font size. Hope that makes sense!
@@LoBoDesigns ok got you. Thank you so much for the reply
That’s clever !
I did everything the same as you did and then in the end I couldn’t click create stroke outline. Idk why
Try going up into Object > Expand, if the outline isn't working! You may need to do that step twice if you've edited the font stroke at all.
Wow this design brings adrenaline, in my soul....something, something Cody Rhodes....🤣
Thank you
Thank you
Wonderful info!!! I just did a test run and the -2mm focus is perfection!!! Thanks so much for the video!!!
Yayyy! So glad it was helpful! 🎉
Where do you buy your 3M adhesive tape???? 🤔 Thank you 🫶
Hi! I get mine from a couple places! CeruleanTides.com, CrazyLaserDad.com, and there's a group on FB called "Adhesive Ninja" that has great deals on 3M as well. NEVER buy it on Amazon! it's ridiculously overpriced!
Thank you so much!!
Hi Heather! Thanks for this tutorial it has helped me so much!! I wanted to ask about connecting the dots of small letters like an "i" or "j" to prepare them for laser cutting. Do you have a tutorial on this?
Good lawd! I have no idea how I missed this comment! Please let me know if you still need help with this - I know I'm super late. 😭 Apologies!
When you did the red cut layer it showed no z offset in Lightburn. Does the laser automatically change the z height prior to cutting the red cut layer or did you send the cut layer as a seperate job to the engrave layer? Thank you
Hi! The cut layer is set to the height where I autofocused. So, it will lower the bed for all the engrave steps and then bring it back into focus for the cut step!
Great video! Followed the tutorial but when i went to print, it did not vectorize the image and it printed huge even though i had it mucg smaller inside illustrator (since it was test) whay am i doing wrong? Do i need to save it first then print?
When you say "print" are you sending it to a laser or using a UV or sublimation printer? Wondering if maybe the file type is the issue here!
@LoBoDesigns i have an inkjet 2830 which i was told would work.
That'll definitely work. I would recommend exporting from AI as a PNG or JPG and printing that on the printer!
@@LoBoDesigns okay cool thanks I’ll try.
I just started using Illustrator, to go with my new laser engraver. Your channel is amazing! I can't believe you don't have more views, as your videos are great! Keep up the good work, and God bless.
Thank you so much for watching and following along! 🫶🏻
I can’t find this brush on your Etsy. Can you share the link

Excellent video! Just setting up my Mira 9 and found this very helpful. Keep the instructional videos coming.
Super glad it was helpful for you! Thanks for watching!
fonts link please
Hello! I listed the names of the fonts in the description so you're able to look them up on your favorite font site, as they're available on multiple. Hope that helps!
You DID NOT TEACH ME HOW TO SEND TO LASER
Hello! I review my process of sending the file to the laser beginning at the 10:20 mark. I do it differently than some others do. 😎
******* ( IF YOU MAKE YOUR POINTER LARGER OTHERS MIGHT SEE IT! )
Hello again! My teaching style isn't for everyone, I understand that. I hope you find someone that is a better fit for what you're looking for! 🫶🏻
so helpful! thank u
Thanks for watching! 🫶🏻
Hello Heather ! thank you so much for this very informative video. After I expand vectorisation, the image has a white background and not a transparent background. Hence when I try to put two layers together (both of which I did up to the expand vectorisation stage), I can’t see both as they have white background. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks so much for your time!!
Hello! After the Image Trace step, use the Magic Wand tool (Y on your keyboard) and click anywhere in that white area to select the blank space. Once it's selected, hit Delete on your keyboard. You can also hit Expand in the Image Trace panel and check the option/box that says "Ignore White" and that will automatically delete the white area during the tracing step. If you're still having issues, please send me an email and I can help walk you through it! HeatherLynn@LoBoDesigns.com
So much fun😂
You're such an awesome teacher, I love how you simplify everything! Thank you so much!! Blessings!!!
I really missed your awesome feedback, Joe! Appreciate you, buddy! 🫶🏻

Thank you, love!

Thanks so much for watching and for the awesome feedback! 🫶🏻
Hey Heather! Haven't seen you in a while. Somehow you fell off of my favorites list. Hope you and your family are well! Blessings!!!
JOE!!!! I've missed you!!! Hope all is well, buddy!
This is awesome! So glad I found your channel. I have a question, I want to divide my text/word into three portions so I can cut it on my glowforge aura. Is this possible on the ipad? I am fairly new and have not been able to find a way to do this. Can you help with this?
Thanks for watching! I'm actually not sure since I mostly use the Desktop version of AI, but I'll check it out for ya this week and confirm for you! If it's possible I'll create a tutorial for it. 🫶🏻
So usefull, thank you! Definitly trying this 😊
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
Wow! Can the same technique be used on painted/stained wood or acrylic?
Absolutely! Just be very careful with making sure the BACK side of your jig isn't dirty or have any char that might rub off on unsealed paints or chalk paints.
Thank you for sharing, this by far has been the best tutorial I have watched and learned a great deal on. Thank you for saving me hours of headaches! Awesome Info
Yayy! Super happy it was helpful for you! Thanks for watching. 🫶🏻
Don't you ever loose some of those tiny pieces? I hate loosing the dots on the i! Any tip for that? 😊
Losing the little pieces is THEEEE worst! 🤣 I normally cut extras of those littles so I have more to lose lol.
@@LoBoDesigns i do the same 😅 but i want to figure out other solutions, maybe something to put bellow the acrylic (as i usually raise mine). I'll keep thinking about it! Love your content btw, thanks you 🥰
You were reading my mind! I want to make some stakes for birth month plants we bought my mom for Mothers Day to identify which grandkid each plant corresponds to and knew that it wouldn’t be as easy as typing out text!
Yayy! Mind-reading skills in tact! 🤣🔮🎉
Ohh I didn’t know you can just copy and paste into LB. That’s awesome. So the letters are not automatically welded to eachother? IDK why I have such a hard time wrapping my head around what a stroke it. I don’t like is. 🤣 Thank you for the tutorial! I’m starting to get more comfortable with AI finally!
You're correct, ma'am! 😎 In LB, the text welds itself, but in AI, you have to Unite it as part of the design process. The copy and paste ability is one of the greatest things ever! Just make sure you have your DPI in LB set to 72 and not to 96. It's in the File Settings screen!
