01.05.25 | Rhythms | The Why Behind Rhythms | Philippians 3:17
มุมมอง 2414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Have you ever wondered if you can actually change? What does it mean to be Christ-like? Good news, it's way better than just doing your best and forcing it! Since the time that Jesus walked the earth, his disciples have adopted and taught rhythms of life. Sometimes they are called spiritual disciplines, habits of grace, or any number of other names. They are practices and ways of life that allo...
12.22.24 | Advent | Luke 2:22-38 | Learning to Wait Well
มุมมอง 3728 วันที่ผ่านมา
Advent is a season of waiting-an invitation to pause and reflect on the deep longings of our hearts. In this message, we explore the powerful story of Simeon and Anna in Luke 2:22-38. Both faithful servants of God, Simeon, a devout man, and Anna, a prophet of God, have spent their lives waiting for the promised Messiah. When they encounter the baby Jesus, they immediately recognize Him, knowing...

What's your favorite Christmas Story villain? The Grinch? Ebeenzer Scrooge? What we love more than a good villain is a story of redemption. What's better than the Grinch's heart growing three sizes or Scrooge becoming kind and generous? That's the beauty of Christmas stories. The Christmas text that we look at in Scripture this week is all about change. More specifically it's about people chang...
December 8, 2024| Luke 2:1-7 | The Why of Christmas
มุมมอง 24หลายเดือนก่อน
In this sermon, we explore the powerful opening line of the Christmas story in Scripture. Just as iconic movie and book openings capture our attention-like "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away"-God's chosen beginning for the Christmas story is equally significant. Together, we'll reflect on why God wanted us to know these details and how they set the stage for the most transformative eve...

มุมมอง 17หลายเดือนก่อน
As a community, many of us are longing for a return to "normal" after a season of disruption. It’s natural-our bodies are wired for stability, a process called homeostasis, where we strive for balance despite external changes. But as we enter the Advent season, we’re reminded that life often calls us out of our comfort zones, and the normal we long for may not return. In this Advent series, we’...
Finding Peace in Chaos: Anchoring Our Souls in Jesus (Revelation 1:17-18)
มุมมอง 20หลายเดือนก่อน
In the midst of life's challenges, how do we anchor our souls? As we approach the Advent season, we're reminded that Jesus offers us peace in the chaos. In this sermon, we explore Revelation 1:17-18 and the powerful words of Jesus to John on the island of Patmos: "Do not be afraid." Life can feel overwhelming-filled with uncertainty, fear, and what-ifs. But Jesus, the first and the last, the li...

มุมมอง 104 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this message, we talk about another way we get to live as citizens of a Kingdom already here and not yet fully here. In this passage of scripture, Jesus exposes a tension we can all relate to. We see what's going on around us, and we feel this need to make some sort of declaration about it. We want to pronounce a judgment. But we will see Jesus show us a better way. In this message, we see Jesus tackle a topic that we have lost a lot of vocabulary for in the Western Church: fasting. At most, we hear about fasting for health reasons, mainly to lose weight. Or maybe the most spiritual among us fast when they are really serious about wanting God to intervene in their lives. But what if fasting was something more but also not as big of a deal as that? What if ...

I just read an article about giving things becoming a second disaster. You could fill a couple warehouses full of stuff nobody wants to take. Not sure if it's lawful but couldn't your parishioners shop donations turning it into Cash Relief Fund. That way when there is a need you have cash and don't have to store the stuff or find somebody to take it because you have no place for it.

If you ever find yourself questioning your existence or you want answers about what your purpose is in this life, The Quran is the only book in the world which will give you the true answers to these questions.

The Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary in the form of a man, with glad tidings of a child who was to be born miraculously without a father. “Then We sent to her Our spirit (angel Gabriel), and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects. She said: ‘Surely I seek refuge from you with the Most Beneficent (God) if you do fear God.’ He said: ‘I am only a messenger of your Lord: to announce to you the gift of a righteous son.’ She said: ‘How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?’ He said, ‘Thus [it will be]’. Your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.’” Qur’an 19:17-21 Some claim that his miraculous birth is evidence of Jesus’ divinity. However, Jesus was not the first to come into existence without a father, as Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) before him had neither a father nor mother. God says: “The likeness of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: ‘Be’, and he was. This is the truth from your Lord, so be not of the disputes.” Qur’an 3:59-60
