When you install a Decoder into Chinese Locos, do you have to change the lights to LEDs as when I have done this before (not on Chinese Locos) they blow the globes? are Chinese locos different?

Excellent stuff, when I was a kid a had some Hobby Rivarossi locos that I built from kit and still have. I had a Lima blue dutch electric loco 1220. I liked them all but at the time, Rivarossi had a better reputation then Lima. Now that I am older, I can appreciate the engineering simplicity of Lima. I think that Lima will outlast a Rivarossi any time. I have lots of old Limas now and they all run perfectly. Simple but very effective. Now there is so much emphasis on detail, which you cannot even see on a layout. The same detail can make the model very fragile and at times difficult to keep on the track. i.e. the flanges now are very prototipical and the wheels much narrower than they used to be, but unless the track is absolutely perfect they wont stay on, which I find counterproductive. I just bought a Lima HO Dutch hondekop NS Mat54 4 car set electric train, which should be delivered in a couple of days... Looking forward to that..

AWWWW SNAP! I had the same issue please check out my construction method just TH-cam josef model railway curved viaduct. Same brand same problems lol. I’m actually just weathering it as we speak and getting ready for the pour. But should be done before end of year anyway check it out see my horrific results but looks good now!

Mooie beknopte handleiding waarin je laat zien hoe je de decoder in een lok plaatst. Handig, omdat de gebruiksaanwijzingen van Piko niet altijd even leesbaar zijn.. denk je dat het mogelijk is om eenvoudig een sounddecoder in het model te installeren? Groetjes uit Lier 👋

nice informative video.. I am using 10808 daisy chained to a second one. How is the starting address set? The instruction says to 'activate a magnet article' with the address after pressing the program button. Does this mean create a control like turnout switch and set to starting address of detector?

Hi I’m trying to make reservations for parking for a concert being held in August. My tickets are section C135 which is the same side of stadium as your seats. Would parking Lot B (in between Gate 2 and 4) be the the best choice? I’ll be very pregnant by then and want to avoid parking on opposite sides from my seat selection. Thank you in advance

Hoi misschien een stomme vraag maar ik heb Rocoline met bedding maar ben zo teleurgesteld in het snijden van de spoorbedding, alleen het elektrificeren van de wissels is relatief goedkoop nou overweeg ik trix h0 gleis maar vroeg ik me af of deze dan gewoon dcc is en deze kan elektrificeren op dit protocol, en werken roco treinen gewoon op dit spoor ivm de bielzen?

Having just finished the 8th arch of an extended HO Faller 120465 viaduct I think I have finally found a simple way to fit the arching stonework without snapping it or otherwise mucking it up. The trick is to use a template of the correct circumference to bend the heated arch sheet around, and fix the curvature by wrapping strips of adhesive tape strips around it to hold it in place until cooled. Then apply liquid poly cement to the support ridges of the arch walls and slot the entire template and taped stonework combination into place- do not remove the tape strips. Hold or tape it securely until the cement sets before removing or trim back the tape. (Go easy on the cement- avoid excess overflows) The template I found which is exactly the correct size is a 180g cardboard Bisto gravy granules tub. Couple of things to remember. Softening the plastic in an oven according to Faller's instructions works, but you can only do it once. Re- heating it causes the plastic to shrink. Also pay attention and don't bend it the wrong way with the stonework on the outer curve- if you do, it won't bend back the correct way without snapping. Also, don't tape right up to the edges of the plastic- you need to keep these clear in order to bond with cement to the viaduct walls. The main goal is to get the centre third of the arch firmly fixed- if the ends are still loose they can be re-cemented later, with little risk of snapping. The main risk is snapping through the middle- if this happens the job is likely to be irrecoverable and you will need a fresh sheet. If it all goes wrong Faller customer services are very helpful at supplying replacement parts, although there may be a delay if they are out of stock. It ended up really well in the end. They responded for Marklin not Trix c-gleiss because it s the same plastic, only the rails differ from what I know.

Hi you should not connect 3 ohm resistor to rolling stock as this will take 5A at 15V. This will either burn out or trip your DCC . 3K ohm may work depending on the detector and take only 5mA.
