Great video thank yall
I thought this was toxic for goats and cows
What are they grazing in the summer though?
I have tall fescue in my pasture. Along with perennial ryegrass. Red clover some bluegrass and a johnsongrass stand along the fence that sneaking over from my neighbors. The cows hardly ever if ever touch the tall fescue. The eat around it.
It's probably a wild variety with high silica content. Horses might like it.
Orchard makes excellent hay but horrible grazing pasture.
✌️✌️🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩😍😍🙋♂️🙋♂️
What kind of ryegrass is better to use
Is rye grass also ok for horses? We found a wheat rye grass blend of hay, and I wasn't sure if that's good for horses.
Yes but be careful as not all ryegrass is okay for horses. I think it’s the endophyte which can be an issue, the same cultivar can often have a no endophyte option and multiple endophyte options.

Good advice here - thanks…
3" height is great for lawn turf fescue as well, so the cattle are doing a great job mowing.
Love this so much ❤️
Don't forget weed control
Good for Guinea pigs too.
Do mice like to eat it though? The hay? Serious question.
SDBS2 Well yeah since I don't grow any....seriously though I store it the garage to feed the rabbits with. I was just wondering if I am attracting mice... We did have some mice in the garage at some point...I don't think we do now but idk for sure.
I've found that dragging a harrow lightly ahead of spraying will bruise up the grass and will greatly enhance the kill with roundup
How much kilo from 1 Hector . yeald

Why’s it funny? It’s the name of a town
@@nalley6815 It must be sad to have no sense of humor.
@@joshblick I have a sense of humor it just wasn’t funny
@@nalley6815 Obviously not
my name is keng. I want to have american brahman but i don't know types of grasses for my cattle. can you tell me for my cattle to fed to my cow. so what kind of grasses to plant in your farm for american brahman breeders in my farm my farm is Thailand . Thank you very much
Very nice video! Thank You
How do you find the cows to graze the orchard grass we got it growing in some of our paddocks and the cows don't eat it much compared to the perennial ryegrass
@@JamesOBrien2253 I'm not sure what is different, but our cows love perennial ryegrass too and Orchard grass mix! It's so funny how cows here are different! I do think your grass may have allot more nutrient value over there compared to here! That might affect the cows desire to eat different types!
any need of ryegrass seeder (pasture seeder) contact with us
A plant that is toxic to my cattle is not what I want in my pastures. The only good fescue is a dead fescue.
Proper management its not an Issue
what kinda grass is good for cattle forage?
dont grow Kentucky-31, but grow Novel- fescue
Very good! Thanks for this video!

jeez, you guys are spraying herbicides? eesh. here you guys are talking about increased microbial activity from the rye grass and then you spray herbicides, and may have to spray more than once? there go your precious microbes you talked up about. you mega farmers really don't get it do you.
these mega farms are workable as long as fuel is cheap. when it isn't cheap anymore, the industry *will* have to significantly downsize. shipping produce thousands of miles will be out of the question. smaller, local farms will be the future of farming. it's not a question of if, it's when.
nice. recycling nutrients is what it's all about. cereal rye will do the same, although it may tie up nitrogen for a longer period because of its heavy fiber stalks. rye grass may release it sooner.
great vids till the roundup try vinegar
