Beryl Visit

Hurricane Beryl dirty side came barreling down through Lake Jackson, Texas and wiped out 3 trees on my backyard, a 30-foot tall tree on my front yard, blocking the driveway, braking a section of concrete fence, cracking a 27-foot tall chimney, flooding my living room and study room.

During 19-29 Feb 2024 trip to Raja Ampat on Blue Manta, we saw Reef Manta in Manta Sandy (Dampier Strait) and Oceanic Manta in Pele's Playground (Misool) unexpectedly, not in the usually seen Manta cleaning station of Magic Mountain (Misool) on this trip and neither on the previous trip (December 2022). We saw Oceanic Manta in Magic Mountain in January 2020, however.

Maagiri Cuttlefish

Interesting cephalopod chromatophore change we witness while diving in Maagiri Reef, North Male Atoll, Maldives, with Malives Aggressor II, on 18 December 2023. This male cuttlefish can actually change skin color darker only half of his body. What an interesting world we live in!

Crab Hunting

Saw Giant Moray, Whitetip Shark, Coral Hogfish (Jv), Sabre Squirrelfish, Big-scale Squirrelfish, Phantom Butterflyfish, Oriental Sweetlips, Many spot Sweetlips, urge Grouper, Hexagon Grouper, Hawksbill Turtle, schooling Blueline Snapper and WHALESHARK at safety stop.

Yes, you identify those Sharks well.
What the heck is this supposed to show? Sharks swimming???!!!
Like the title says. It is the place where the hammerheads come to get cleaned the parasites off their bodies by hovering above the rocks and let the cleaner fish (Barberfish) to come and start poking on the hammerheads’ skin. We were sitting there on the rocks, watching the cleaning process taking place. :)

I was diving there the day after, I saw the shark in 33 mts.
What else did you see? We saw 4 Mola Mola & Thresher Shark on Blue Corner. What a great day that was!

Thanks. It was a lucky day. We had 2 days in Bali before flying home after 11 days in Banda Sea. So we had a day of diving and went to Nusa Penida. What a nice closure for a two-week diving trip in Indonesia. :)

Sand Tiger Sharks are quite harmless and they won't attack when you go into the water.
Some DM call it a pussy cat of the sea.
