Looks cool. This camp was somehow in my Facebook feed yesterday's so I just saw it for the first time. looks like a lot of fun. What's that tall item that towers over the trees, is that a cell tower or something like that?

We were backpacking on Ossabaw Island this past weekend. 3 night trip with my Scout troop. Virtually deserted island. State of GA now owns the island after buying from a gilded age family sorta like Cumberland Island. Virtually no development on this island. We were pretty much the only people on this island this past weekend. Amazing experience.

If you are on the trails, watch out for pit bulls and other dogs off leash. Last Monday morning around 8AM, my 20 pound Jack Russell terrier (who was on a leash) and I were attacked by a gray pit bull (named Bella who was not on a leash) on the East Palisades Trail at the Chattahoochee River. I thought we were going to die when it happened - but we were not hurt. I had already picked up my dog and was trying to shelter her in my arms, when the pit bull knocked us to the ground. The owner was able to get her off before more damage was done. This is the reason it's against the law to have your dog off leash anywhere - on any trail - even in the water - within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The dog's owner was very sorry. She replied that many people have their dogs off leash here and she suggested this might not be the best place for me to walk my dog. I later call the Ranger. Nothing he could do since I didn't have any way to identify the owner. He said it is a problem and people seem to think it's OK to have dogs off leash here - and that they share that misinformation on social media. He said he will request that Rangers patrol the area more often. I later found a bite mark on my dog I had not seen earlier. Took her to the emergency vet last night and she's receiving treatment.

I graduated in the 80's - matriculated in Jr HS; graduated top of my class with honors; scholarship to top college; MBA at a top Ivy; investment banking, retired early at 43 ... will never donate a penny though.

I go to Westminster. Such a good school. I am a rising fifth grader.

I stayed at the Treasure Island Inn several years during family vacations as a kid. Based on the article Bobby referenced I called the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce late last year (2018) before I made my family travel arrangements for this year (2019). The person I spoke to had no record of any current or upcoming renovation to take place at the Treasure Island site. She also told me that she drives past the site daily during her commute to/from work and confirmed there was no activity. It's unfortunate. They'd get my money at least once if it were re-opened.

As a visitor a hotel employee informed us that TV doesn't show roof damage after hurricanes . The inside of a building collapses from rain. That isn't recognized by us Northerners. Seems like Mother nature is hard on all of us, no matter where we live.

Half the pier was demolished by a storm a few years back! It used to be about a third longer! The city council will not put it back because of costs! You can find old picks and read about the wreckage online! Thanks for the cool drone pics!
