Mushroom terpenes fascinate me. If you look closely at turkey tails, they almost appear to have clear trichomes. I wonder if they they have some sort of nitrogen fixation happening in those hairs through endophytes or the mushroom itself, also if like cannabis that nitrogen fixation is also a catalyst for secondary metabolites such as terpenes/ flavonoids/and organic acid production

actually eating amanita muscaria in a mead could give you a huge fearlessness and increase in strength and decrease the sensation of pain if Amanita Muscaria were combined with a stimulant I have personally observed similar bizerker behaviour. Henbane would be useful to decrease the ataxia and muscle twitching which can happen with muscaria. Henbane alone as the singular alkaloid wouldn't cause the rage and mania affiliated. In fact the hallucinations cause are really intense and it would be easy at high doses to confuse your battle brother with anything else as it's a strong hallucinogen that looks real. So maybe reconsider talking about the historic use of plants and mushrooms that you don't know about chemically. FURTHER the Bear cults of promo germanic peoples and the reindeer cults BOTH revered and use Amanita Muscaria and there is quite a lot of evidence surrounding this. I've also come across papers which connect the Völva with different entheogenic brews to go into trance with drumming and singing. Not everyone can consume the brews and connect to the spirit realms, as some who try without training go insane.

From personal experience, I will argue all day that different strains of mushrooms DO undeniably have different effects. No it's not like weed, and grow conditions among other factors influence, but the lineage of the strain is absolutely relevant to the effect. Each culture is a different creature. Each one has a different personality.

i really liked the analogy where Tomas compared therapeutic mushroom doses to alcoholic beverages ~ like the big (3.5g) dose being equivalent to a double shot drink, a beer being equivalent to a microdose (under 3.5 LOL)

My understanding is that Ibotenic acid can be stimulating at the right dose and nauseating if too much. So a partial decarb or just eating a little bit dried will be stimulating and muscimol is sedating so tea would help with insomnia and eating a little bit could help with a day of work
