Chez Poulet Homestead
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 ต.ค. 2012
This is our small family's homestead. We have a 30x16 garden. And a huge chicken coop with heritage laying hens. We now have Muscovy ducks too

I did good 😂🎉❤
Good 🐔
@popolowo123 told cold they are not allowed to hatch now. The chicks would die. Plus I can't feed chicks now. The other hens would eat all the feed. No more babies for me here.
Aww i hope she makes more babies in summer to grow
I'm sure they would really appreciate straw or hay being put down for bedding and to scratch around in along with a little warmth.. I would most definitely do that.
@jhawk78 they don't get heat Winters here can get -35c but they do just fine. Although I do need more food shavings. Straw or hay here isn't the best for bedding as the moisture causes more frostbite. Been there done that.
How old are ur chickens
@Pluckerducky well Charlie my rooster is the oldest at 3.2years old. My oldest hens are my Original brahmas and ameraucanas they are 2.6 years old and my silkies are the youngest at 1.6 years old. My ducks are only 6.2 months old. I purchased new laying hens this season which is why they are still laying they will only molt come sprung or summer next year.
That's my boy❤❤❤❤

Wave from scross the border. Ducktastick!
@RoosterHoller scraped the coop up lastnight but more rain today and this week. How all is well
@chezpoulethomestead all is great this way. Thanks for asking. Temps outside are starting to diminish, brrrrrr. Love this time of year.
I love how detailed and professional your videos are!
@Liam-DuckChicken my coops alot dirtier now. The rain and ducks have made quite the mess.
I thought I could stop by and say hello. Sure, I hope your day is great.
looks dope dude!
@stve6281 thanks ibwanna do the windows and doors eventually too
That fire sound is way kool. I got a neighbor in whom eats those mushrooms. Enjoy your day.

They like those pumpkins
Sure hope your day is well today! Cheers
Maybe you need to have a co producer, your son, to do the video and you do the collecting. ;-)
@@goliath200us I can't they live 3hrs away. My kids don't live with me
1:47 thanks😊
What ya think about dem.ducks?
@RoosterHoller easy to care for just dirty. I can't let them be uncovered in the run or they fly out. I cleaner in the coop and they made it look like I didn't 😆 🤣 I love the size of the eggs. The bigger eggs are 100 grams. Most chickens are 60 to 70gr
@chezpoulethomestead648 the eggs are bigger. It's fun watching you learn and work with the animals. Temps starting to drop yet?
@RoosterHoller yes -7 this morning. Gotta check if the water is frozen. No more leaves on the trees.
@chezpoulethomestead648 short growing season. Goodness
@RoosterHoller ya I plant my garden in June and harvest in September
Nice sharing.i❤farm... like done 👍
@ArshiyaSoudagar-li8sc thanks appreciated

He is bad to the bone! 3:32 hey huey 8:35 cheers bro, have a good one
Do you sell the duck eggs or are duck just pets?
@@goliath200us I only planned to keep them to produce more in the spring for next year. I wanna hatch more. I don't plan on selling them. They are huge eggs
@goliath200us I've had 1 lady ask me for duck eggs but I don't think I'll have enough to sell
Congratulations
@@RoosterHoller thanks 2 more today woohoo lol
@chezpoulethomestead648 get on down beo!

@kendinyapdoityourself7569 id have to measure the pulley on each and figure it out. My motor is 1725rpm

@chezpoulethomestead648 slow my way, just the way I like it. I'm trying to learn this utube thing.
4:18 she is a doll! Shooting a bug wave your way. 5:27 ignore. Lol. 9:35 support!
That’s so cramped
@StonedBarbiee lol no I have 500 square feet. This is only the 8x10 I have a 8x16 on the back side and 3 10x10 runs. There is lots. They are crowded eating bc the feed ran out and I just filled it so they are all running to eat. I have more feeders I choose to only use 1. Easy to manage feed this way
Egg man, ha, vid is proof
@@RoosterHoller yup lol
@@RoosterHoller how u been. Was nice and warm here today.
Huey, are you smoking thst holy suff again?
@@RoosterHoller lol he is so funny with his neck moving like he's mad
@chezpoulethomestead648 The male ducks get thst neck going like thst when they are flirting with their girl during their mating time. Lol, I might do that neck thing after hitting some chronic caugh medicine.
@@RoosterHoller 😆 🤣
@@chezpoulethomesteadlol
Does the same chicken lay white and brown eggs?
@goliath200us no different color eggs are different birds. White chickens white eggs. Brown chickens brown eggs. Not always but 90% of the time
30° fahrenheit here today. Cheers
@RoosterHoller lol 😆 this time of year is funny. It was -3 c here this morning I had frost on my car.
Q
What's up bro? Getting cold that way yet?
@RoosterHoller 30f and even colder tonight. Almost time to empty my 600 liter water containers
@chezpoulethomestead648 I hear ya. Our washing machine stays outside uncovered. I wonder how long I can use it before it freezes up.
Shit I forgot it was friday! I wanted to come get eggs! crap!
Looking good!
Nicely done!
@@RoosterHoller he was proud to be big enough finally to shoot a shot gun. I just bought this 16 gauge last week. It's a 1940s Norwegian

@emildrimbea3210 ya my coop is super dirty haven't cleaned it all year. Usually don't because I use the compost in my garden. Going to be cleaning the coop soon.
@@chezpoulethomestead my grandparents and my parent on countryside they use to colect the compost and deposit it close to garden like this is easy to distribuit in garden and open ear is much bether for compost

Hey gang. Saying hello. Tomatos everywhere Yw 5:14
@RoosterHoller only this left in the garden is your sunflowers lol. Hello to u too lol
Ol boy was holding onto that for dear life. 😂
@bigvince117 it was my first shot with the new old gun. Was trying to make it look scary for my kid lol 😆
Do the ducks produce enough to earn their keep or do you just keep them as pets?
@goliath200us no they are just pets till the spring. I would like to let them hatch their own. I have 15 females so I'm sure someone will become momma. If I can get them to reproduce then I'm golden for meat ducks every year!
Lol
How embarrassing
