What stunning houses. Some remind me of English countryside manor houses. I wouldn't have a clue how much those houses are for sale for. I'll look forward to watching your other videos, David. Take care.
Thanks Tracey. Yes, the homes would as this is the time everyone was coming from England. As for the prices of the home, well they can start around 2.5 million and go up from there. The two in the video are listed for 3.25mil anr 4.6mil
お会いできて嬉しいです

Excellent video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
WOW TORONTO IS THE DUMPS N SLUMS NOW !😳
What a shithole. All concrete a just a few small tress.
This is an absolute paradise in comparison to the dtes of vancouver.
From van, I was watching the whole video wondering where the actual encampments were... we just have it so bad
Even some dogs & cats have homes!
100%
its not 800 square feet. apartments are bigger lol
lol you are right. I remember listening to this when I was editing the video and I forgot to add some text say 800,000
I love Kensington Market.
I have another video I just filmed today in the whole area. A lot more that this video. It’s come out sometime later next week I think
Why didn't you go and get take out containers and water and bring it to those homeless people? Instead of showing homelessness show caring by giving food and drinks?
I have done in the past but there was a situation going on at the time I was not going to put myself in a dangerous situation. There are organizations that do that sort of thing everyday and they are more able to help. I might tell a story of how I helped someone get back on their feet 20 years ago in a another video. thanks for taking the time to watch and commnet.
Why should he?
Which mall did your dad say was is favorite to walk? The mall is big, bright , bringing in bowling means they will try to boost business? Jollibee please try the 1 pc chicken with spaghetti it's delicious
fairview was his favourite mall to walk as he and my mom had friends that also walked there.
Good video brother, but I didn’t see any encampments or homeless I guess that’s a good thing but your video description is kind of click bait(ish) I’m gonna subscribe though to see where this goes so don’t disappoint me😂😂😂😂
Thanks Scott. At 10:42 of the video is where I walk into the park. It’s hard to title videos when out walking for a while as there are a lot of titles I could make. Thanks for watching, subscribing and taking the time to comment.😎
I used to work at the mall working in health food store it was the sh health foods than closed down
I really enjoy walking tours with history thrown in! Most Torontonians don't know their history.
Nice tour and historical commentary on the historical Gibson house and the 1999 snowstorm when Mel called in the army. Not sure if I would have called the April 2018 North York Van attack an "accident" though since the perpetrator deliberately ran over and killed several pedestrians along Yonge street.
We don't need more homes. We need more affordable homes. Most condos being built right now are struggling to find tenants. This mall was a part of my childhood. I hope they don't wreck it down. I grew up in that area and my mom used to take me and my sister to that mall. I share so many memories there.
The east york mall on overlea is probly the ony mall ive never been to in Toronto but i did do a delivery to the fit for less id like to see what it looks like
Excellent video, David.
Glad you enjoyed it.
I worked in this mall...way too many condos that only the wealthy can afford....It will cast way too many shadows. How tall will they be?
4 condos at 50 stories tall. 8500 residences
7500 more cars
Past January 15th, you can stop saying Happy New Year.
@@raccoon874 lol thanks for that. I was thinking the same as it’s half way into the month.
When is it supposed to be demolished?
On 9 December 2021, an application was submitted to the city to permit the re-development of the property. It is planned to demolish the mall over several years, with the aim of replacing it with a network of new public and private streets and development blocks containing a mix of uses including residential, retail, office, a central public park. So I’m thinking it going to be happening soon
Ppl need homes. Plus these types of malls are dying, 😢
100% we’ve have had a housing shortage since 2013. I hope these projects will help
@@backroads8640 probably not as the price of these condos will go for top dollar
Imagine use to love drive ins those were the days 🫶 so fun roller rings it all i miss the old days
yeah fun time with the drive-in's and I remember the The Terrace Roller Skating Rink in downtown Toronto in the late 80's at 399 Church Street, near Carlton Street
Wow I've never seen a mall so dead so sad ..
Yup, it's been like this for 20 years
Medium sized malls in a good neighborhood were great from the mid 60's to about 1990. Things change and then change again. I never thought back in 1970 that in my lifetime malls, drive in theaters, convertible car tops, drive in burger joints, diners, pay phone booths, and film cameras would all nearly completely vanish. Makes me wonder what may vanish in the next 40-60 years.
It's hard to know what's next.
So true
Long and boring.
Hi David, how are you doing.
Hi. Appreciate your clean windshield, so, why not clean store window?
Hi Richard, that's a good question. What store window are you referring to?
@@backroads8640 You commented on the fellow "washing" his store window in Mount Forest.
Oh yes I remember now. Lol. It’s so cold I always think that it will freeze on contact but I guess they would make the solution with anti freeze.
This is where I live! That snowfall tested out my snowblower's abilities. Let's just say I have to repair it now.
Hope your repair goes well. The snow really tests the equipment
You failed to mention the number one item in the city
Hi David
This helps with what to expect, i'm moving from San Diego to rural Michigan(Custer) population 272 I have an AWD Toyota Matrix, hopefully a good choice. Proper tires by next winter.
Good luck with the move. Snow tires for sure
They don't need to heat and cool and spaces as much so it's more economical for the developer.
Not that strange, you should do a review of Shops on Don Mills which is very similar.
At 6:55 if you looked up on the building it says "Molson Bank"...now it's Bank of Montreal. I'd say straight on at the light takes you to Kitchener (not left). Don't want to sound critical but the city promotes "Uptown Waterloo". Trying to one up down town Kitchener? With the "ION" rail system uptown parking is not what it was.
Great footage my brother
Thanks man! I'm glad you liked it.
Those premium outlet malls are sooooo much better in the US! We have one in Eagan, Minnesota and when I used to live in Montreal Canada we saw they had the same mall chains and the Canadian counterparts are wayyyyy much more expensive than the American ones
Terrific walking video!! I have travelled through a lot of Ontario and I have been close to Waterloo but I haven't been yet! I'd love to visit! Happy New Year!! I hope it's awesome!! 🙂
Happy New Year to you as well!
@@backroads8640 Thank you so much!! Can't wait to visit!! 🙂
Nice footage my friend, I just got a new camera and i'm still learning all the functions
Thanks!! That’s awesome what did you get?

I love sunsets: thank you for sharing and hope your channel grows!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a beautiful sunset.
It doesn't help that for people living in Richmond Hill and Newmarket (two large suburb/commute cities) this is their only way into downtown (via 404) aside from taking TTC into Finch for most of the day. Only 6 GO trains a day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon/evening surely isn't ideal... Blame the rail companies for not letting GO run more trains (they have to share tracks unlike the Lakeshore and parts of Kitchener/Stouffville line which are wholly owned by Metrolinx allowing for all day half-hour/hourly service) Transit overall in the GTA is a backbone of the transportation network but is horribly mismanaged and underfunded in terms of upkeep. Just look at TTC projects!
You have excellent picture quality in your videos! I'm envious - always wanted to do something similar.
It’s fun to play with all the settings!
Too many people with the same thoughts and values, choosing the same method with its costs and convienence. Too many such people will crowd any infrastructure and its transport mode. Nice to have options, but most people will choose or find themselves dependant on one way of getting around the majority of the time. Car, bicycle, rhinoceros, private jet helicopter, they all have limits. Face the velo-chaos that is Amsterdam Centrum or the crushing crowds of trains of downtown Tokyo and you see that the problem is people, too many in the space, they in mine, me in theirs'. The worst advocates agitating for change demonize the prevailing way of things with its agonies and faults because those faults and agonies are not the same as the ones they choose for themselves and others. Ah, the human condition!
It's a tough situation, for sure.
In your Intro I think you meant 3:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec.29th... wondering how much of that snow was lost to the rain?
They need to fire all the city planners and traffic designers. The city needs to think Outside-of-the-Box for solutions.
the planners know what's up, the lawmakers don't
Hope you are like the pickup infant of you at 29:30 and have your taillights on. Too many (most) people wrongly relay on daylight running lights because their dash is illuminated.
Yes, I put them on everyday so it has become a habit. I don't have to think about later on. Even in the summer when the sun is out. TOOOOOOO many people don't turn them on
What a fabulous walking video!! Happy holidays David! I’m on my way to TO from Vancouver in 2 days and look forward to it! Live Toronto! Cheers, Happy New Year and huge well wishes!! Terrific channel!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I hope you have a great trip. Cheers to a great new year!
Thanks so much!! Be well!! Happy 2025!!
