No the game is solid. It's a very decent action game. It's a horrendous RPG though. I'm really disappointed at the lack of connection to the prior games. It's really EA's fault. They tried to make this a live service game and then change their mind in the middle of the development cycle. Gameplays very good. Graphics are cartoony, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but high quality. Level design is pretty good as well. Writing is bad, but gets a little better as the game progresses.

How good gameplay is ultimately a matter of opinion, but DATV's gameplay is extremely similar to a multiplayer live service game in a single player "RPG." Bosses are extremely tanky and the boss battles are, again similar to those in live service games. I found it extremely off putting as did many other who played the game.

@@OmenCrimson You know I can agree a lot with what you just said. You can definitely see the live service DNA in the game. And coming from a long time destiny 2 player, I'm not really in a hurry to jump into another live service you know? Having said that I personally dog walked every single boss I fought in this game. To be honest I think I've only died multiple times to one early boss. Respectfully, and I am not trying to be disrespectful in the slightest, I personally found the combat in the game to be very easy. And despite the fact that some bosses are tanky, I really do feel like once I got into my flow state that they were all light work. But that's just me specifically you know? Not throwing shade or disrespect out there because our opinions differ. My major gripe, and I'm still very angry at this, is it's not a true RPG. I really wanted a true RPG here. But I'm just going to enjoy it for what it is, I'm kind of mad that I'm considering restarting my playthrough now.. I really did not want to do that..

@@Mickey_Senju_Gaming Inquisition suffered a lot from the "offline MMORPG" thing, and Veilguard suffers from this live-service approach, which eventually turned into a solo game. EA trying to make Dragon Age something that was never meant to be just to appeal to the market and stay relevant is wrong, Veilguard could have been a great game, if we don't consider the woke agenda, I had fun exploring and doing the side content. As for the combats they do are easy, the game wants to be a dark souls game but the patterns of each enemies are not that deep, all the dragons fight the same way, the tankiness of it quickly disappears once you've leveled up. I remember I did a lot of stuff before picking up the main story, once I got to the "Fire and Ice" mission fighting the 2 dragons, they fell in 2 min. But yeah the RPG aspect being non existent is sad, the player has no room for creativity nor freedom. Like I was glad to see my Inquisitor but it's a bland version of her because of the lack of choices imported.

@@danielgrafton93 I went full role-playing with it. I didn't want to lose the mages of tevinter. Such a tough choice. I wish I would have explored Treviso before the blight a bit more

@@Cookiethagoddess yeah exactly not the best but it's a good game. There's aspects of it I like a lot and there's aspects of it I think can be improved upon. I'm very happy that it was polished and mostly bug free

It's hard to tell because I'm going from the five to the pro. If I went backwards maybe I'd be able to tell, but I don't want to put my SSD back in the other PlayStation. Either A) The Fidelity mode and the performance mode look the same on the pro. But the framerate is clearly better in performance Or B) The difference is are so close it's negligible because the developer didn't really optimize. Personally, Finding no difference between Fidelity and performance, within the lighthouse specifically, probably means that PSSR is doing stuff in the background. And I don't know if it's the placebo effect, but I did feel as though I saw more particles in performance mode on the pro.

Exactly. Fidelity mode is so choppy. If there's a difference performance mode will let you experience it more Having said that I'm not really sure how much the devs put into making that difference. Maybe PSSR beefs up the performance mode a little? Not sure. But Fidelity is basically unplayable.

You know I was just thinking about this. I think the reason for this is because bioware was under so much pressure. I think the studio wanted to allocate resources for the lowest common denominator in terms of next-gen hardware. This way the game would run well everywhere. Because you got to remember their last two major games were flops. So the studio was probably close to being shut down if Dragon Age did not sell well. Now they're not even doing DLC for the game, they're moving on straight to the next Mass effect game. I'm sure they want to go in and do stuff, but I don't think they have the time or the resources to afford to do stuff. One final point I'll make before this comment gets too long, EA wanted them to make Dragon Age a live service game. So I know that EA was probably messing with the development a lot. They probably just mandated the studio jump straight to Mass effect.

Both modes uses PSSR to get the final 4K image. Fidelity mode is 1440p native to 4k with PSSR + RT ambient oclusion + some RT reflections @ 30 fps. Performance mode is 1260p -> 4K using PSSR + RT ambient oclusion @ 60 fps

@Vandroy1981 ty VERY much for this breakdown! Fidelity mode was so choppy, I didn't really think it was playable. Knowing this I'm even more impressed by PSSR here. To my eyes I could not tell the difference between performance and Fidelity aside from the frames.

@@Mickey_Senju_GamingMe too, some extra reflections here and there but nothing important, and in terms of image quality both are almost the same. 60 fps makes the difference in this case.

Yeah, 60 frames is def the way to go. The game is still jaw-droppingly gorgeous on performance mode

Same, I lol'd in real life. Her obsessive fandom of the book series is one of my favorite aspects of her character. It's such a unique contrast to her soldier side.

I caved in and looked it up. I'm not going to say which one I picked, but I looked at it as an opportunity to set someone free. I hope that makes sense without jumping too close to the spoiler territory 😅

@@jackgibson16 I should have done a better job describing the decision. Either I try to form an alliance with a different country, or I try to save about nine of my men. The other country is like a totalitarian society that has a lot of slaves. So they're not really the best moral option. But they have a lot of good resources and technology You can take advantage of to try and save the world.

I did not know that was possible. The game is 10 years old, but I really appreciate how they added little details like that. It's crazy how a game a decade old can feel so lifelike nowadays. I guess it says a lot about most modern-day titles and the games as a service phenomenon we've seen recently.

@@Mickey_Senju_Gaming I agree it’s incredible the little details. BioWare especially has always been top tier in that aspect of their games. I’m also playing through it before veilguard release. I’m skeptical for the massive changes in the design of the game. That being said every dragon age game is a completely different style of game.

Thank you Brother! I do have HDR on. I was recording with HDR on in 4K. When you watch it, it's gray on your screen? That's very good to know. I was afraid to record without HDR on I felt like it wouldn't look as good? I need to do more research. I must check with the machine spirits.

Another really important thing is to make sure you keep knockout on there so you have some health regeneration from trash ads

@@Mickey_Senju_Gaming oh yeah that's another thing about spirit of contacts is that they can proc knockout even if u use consecration which by its own cant proc knockout if im correct

I don't know if your approx knockout but I get health regen on it when I use it and a bunch of ads are around. If I'm not mistaken. In the heat of combat maybe I see something incorrectly

It just...so ...hard.... I prefer to run insurmountable skull for it and thunderclap but I can't ignore the damage from consecration

Hey, if we get lucky maybe they'll put it on Game pass or one of the PlayStation subscriptions. I love it when new players have a chance to dive in. I feel like there's a really cool art style in Destiny

It is technically free to play, but I feel like you got to invest money into something inside the game to really get your biggest bang for buck out of it.

I completed the entire campaign on legendary, and the entire raid with this exotic. Trash mobs get absolutely destroyed. I can spam infinite melee through the legendary campaign. It should be noted I ran legendary campaign solo mostly.

I will quickly note that consecration with synthetypes is way better. It's basically like having a second super if you run it with the strand melee cuz you get three charges. It's absolutely nasty and the current build I'm rocking now. I'll probably make a short for it later when I have some more time.
