    One thing you can do, make all interest paid on a house mortgage tax deductible, that would greatly increase the building of new houses. When I started started building my first house in Danmark in the 1960,s that was the rule there, and the housing industry was booming, do that here and you will se an uptick in the building of new houses, and that what we want and need. I know of imm8grants who have worked very hard to become licensed to legally work in their profession. Of course they have families whom they would love to share their homes with. Even if it means being crowded in a tiny living space. Meanwhile their are millions of Canadians crowded into "designated" tent cities across the country. Absolutely welcome immigrants doctors, nurses, skilled workers who can hands on construct homes. As a priority, create shelter, provide health care that includes both mental and physical health as well as social development. Many of the folks on the streets are disabled mentally and/or physically. Some are a danger to themselves and others. Designating an area where human beings are "allowed" to shelter themselves in the elements is inhumane. I don't believe the "bad guys" live in homeless camps. I believe the "bad guys" do business in the camps that inflict harm to the most vulnerable folks in the country. Why can't we house the homeless at least as well as we house criminals?

    I wouldn't want to do business w/a business who post signs in their business, announcing all the special groups they welcome as if they're doing everyone a big favor by announcing they accept "ALL GENDERS!?" WTHeck?! You have to announce it? Since when did a gay walk into a bank and get thrown out? Since when did a lesbian walk into a bank and be refused service? Please cite all the bigoted incidents in Vancouver, BC that have caused you to think this is something that requires special signage as if Vancouver is just full of bigoted banking institutions!

    Sorry. Annoying Monday night musings being taken (lovingly) at BIV and Ken P. From Wikipedia: Economic notions of prosperity often compete or interact negatively with health, happiness, or spiritual notions of prosperity.

  • @JazzyT18
    @JazzyT18 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hmmm. [21:00] I wonder about the future economic sectors induced by energy transition policies that are not captured, identified, GDP tallied in this. As for “bad for prosperity”. I suppose it’s spends how you measure prosperity. (Incidentally: I expect the lift in GDP due to tackling floods and fires is not projected in the models. Not that those are good things, but they will likely increase GDP. Another reason why GDP is such a lackluster metric. But it’s what we got, so… yeahhhhh)
