I've always been disappointed with the lack of Galdr songs available, and not wanting to settle for chanting rune syllables, I started writing my own songs in Old Norse. This is my latest one, Laekna Galdr or “Healing Galdr.” The song calls upon Eir, the Norse Goddess of healing, health, joy. The theme of this song is the *resilience* of healing; "Resilience is that ineffable quality that allow...
The prices are scary now a days that's thing is now almost 40 bucks
Where was the demonstration? All you did was yack for 6 minutes to compare the old and the new.
Only talk, bla bla bla, and no practice and real life. Do get up , work, get better physically and show us the product.
they are AWESOME !!!! had mine for 8ish years and love the way the hook pulls stuff into it . very efficient cutter ! mines chewed up also . i sharpen with a rounded back bastard file . take care Joe
What you call a brush axe, is a term that is of fairly recent times used in north America but for centuries it has been called a billhook in Europe, Middle east India etc it has been used as a weapon in Europe, but mostly used as an agricultural tool to these current times, if you want to buy online, the Italian billhooks are the best known ,if you ask a European for a brush axe they will reply whats that buddie
Great tool. In Finland we call it vesuri. And it is known by most of the people. Here is a vesuri joke for you.. ”I have solved many of my problems with my billhook. And none of them ever came back complaining” 😂😅
Great video and great information. I’m thinking a a brush axe
Clever sheath bud! I like it. A guy could add a pocket or molle attachments even!
Found it!
Review on the new one somewhere? Your channel only shows 7 videos. Which season and episode of nekked n afraid were ya on?
When I first got mine, I set aside a few hours one day and put something akin to a scandi grind on it, with a near mirror polish. It was SO worth the effort... it just glides through wood now. Love how it chops way above its weight. Like you, I've also added grip tape as I found it was prone to slipping and turning in hand, especially with gloves.
This guy is a clone of Jim Root, guitarist for Slipknot...... WOW! He looks just like him!
ah, a fellow lefty. Welcome to the cult
You have such a glorious beard
Mmmhmm
Hello, verry usefull tool.. This form is inspired from the ancient dacic sword, named 'falx dacica'. Regards!
Yes, we know that witch doctor joe made the cardboard/duct tape sheath.
The xa3 is just stupid. They should produce the old x3 again instead of that new peace of garbage.
I just bought s3, it's available and it's almost the same as x3
@@TheFikfreak Interesting, haven't seen that one yet. Thanks for letting me know.
@@sihilius 'Solid S3'. Few small details on the handle are different, but pretty much the same as x3. I didn't want to go with xa3 either
15 years of service and it hasn't broken on you? I didn't think Fiskars' stuff was up to such hard use. I may have to pick one of these up for myself.
Me and my friends are using it for the last ten years on work almost daily, clearing branches etc. Going hard on them, very often smacking the rocks unintentionally and nobody broke it. That fiber plastic hollow handle is almost unbreakable, very lightweight and absorbing vibrations, good for your hand. Highly recommend
@@TheFikfreak Thanks for the information. Do you know just how deep in the handle the tang actually extends?
@@Asertix357 I've just tried to see it through the handle with flashlight and it looks very short they've engineered it differently somehow, pressed with that plastic. But I've never seen it going wiggly or such over the years
I got the chills… that was very powerful, thank you! I had saved it to my meditations.
Greetings from the fiskars village finland.over here they are called vesuri in finnish.
Phone books! Lol 😂 you just told people to put there cell phone 📱 in the ruck 😂👍👌✌️🇺🇸
How do you personally swing it? I like to draw the momentum from above my right shoulder, draw it past my left shoulder and come back around towards the right side. I hold it in my left hand and keep it above my head before coming back to cut. It winds up alot of power. Enough to cleave through a 3cm diameter branch in one swing and still have enough power to cut the next branch a little.
We use a similar type tool in Ireland just with a long handle, a slash hook very useful tool.
Here in the UK you find the best ones in car boot sales, nothing beats old Sheffield steel
I used my uncles and cut a lot of the thin trees at his house
Hi Guys from Chile, this axe looks like a chilean corvo, in the army uses this knife call Condor Beak
absolutly
The 9ld one says Finland on the steel is probably an indicator it is carbon steel of some sort, the other does not so suggests its a cheaper make etc. New one may not be full tang also to cut cost. I may be wrong but just suggesting manufacture may have changed in the past 15 years, would like to see the review on the new one in another year or 2.
I used one for work almost every day one summer. And just fell in love it. That long handle allows you to really get some velocity behind the the swings. And one day my boss had me go into a muddy stream and wanted me to cut all the cat tails and plants out there. Didn’t see the point in it but regardless that hooked part worked great for cutting them right at the base. Chopped up fallen hard wood trees with it as well using the straight edge. Wanted to sharpen the back side like you did too but more further down the back side. Then it would be a really good chopper. But it wasn’t mine it was my boss’s. So now I will probably get one for myself. Don’t really need it got penalty of knives and axes but I just miss this tool.
Right on homie, keep pushing out some vids
Fairly normal across asia, especially the south of India and SriLanka. Wood, Bamboo, Tender coconuts, Chickens, Goats, Tree trimmnig.. name it. Comes in a bunch of sizes, and the largest is a Khopesh like design which classifies as a sword. Only difference? the concave side is the (single edged) cutting bit. Nasty weapon, if used as one. But very versatile for general and agricultural work.
How to buy Any information I am from India I want to buy
Thank you for raising awareness!
unbelievable!
Great video! Thank you
great review. 15 years, I'm sold.
I have one on my ATV so it's easy to grab quickly ..you could fight a Grizzly Bear with that thing
Bill hooks for hedge laying ;) I have an antique bill hook that works, kinda wanting a sci fi version now
I’m going to get one just to put by my bed side. 👍🏻
I live in Scandinavia and here Fiskars is the apex tool brand. Once you buy their tools it will last you forever
It looks like a small dacian falx with an ugly plastic handle. About scandinavian tools, Husqvarna maxes some decent axes, clasic blade and wood handle, and also some that look rebranded Fiskars. I don't like Fiskars design, but nice that they make this small falx.
Bla bla bla
Liked your review. Your right I like to hear from someone that has used it for a while. Thank you for your time post this.
I've been using one of these daily for over ten years , love the thing .
This is a great tool. I use it for clearing brush, debarking logs & scaring away wild animals in my back yard. It just doesn’t quit.
I really really love this tool. And I know its designed to be lite. But I really wish it was full tang, then I could be more confident with it. I still really love it though
You can get traditional ones with a socket for a axe type handle
I used one for a lot of stuff it is not intended for and the handle holds up fine.
The best little brush and tree clearing tool I have ever owned and I have owned dozens of axes and machetes ! It is a Hoss !
I've had the Gerber version for 12 years now it is my go to clearing tool, way better than most machetes. I use it almost every day on the job surveying, working around the house etc if you see me out side chances are it is within reach. I have two fiskars versions I picked up at walmart on clearance just in case I loose the gerber
That was absolutely amazing.
It's the swingspeed...a relatively large blade with a high swingspeed makes a superior allround tool. It youst work so well in most situations, i always find myself going back to it from different types of axes , hatches, knifes and so on. There are several bladeshapes in this category, i even have one with a square blunt tip that is quite good for digging, while still having the correct weight and blade/handle weight /length to get a fast snappy swing. And the hook is super useful in a bushy situation.
