Easy to hear why this record was shelved by Blue Note until 1986 - some of it was just too far out by mid-60s Blue Note standards. In other parts the ensemble passages foreshadow Dave Holland's great 80s quintet, which makes sense as he worked a lot with Rivers, and Julian Priester and Steve Ellington who play here were in the first Holland Quintet.

I saw him play July 16 1982 in Saint Louis and I have the double live album and 4 more. I loved seeing good Live N Loud shows in Saint Louis. Kiel Auditorium, Fox Theater, Arena and the River Boat. So kick up the good music and play it Loud all day n night long till the lights go out. Makes me feel like a wild n crazy child till I die. I'm Billy's brother James and I have thousands of old vinyl album's with a technics stereo. I never listened to TH-cam until 4 years ago and it's good.

Thank you for posting this! I've been looking for "As I watch the Wind" for days under "Joy of Cooking", but I see now it was under the 2 women's names. I couldn't even remember the name of the song.
