I remember seeing Star Wars there in one of the now abandoned stores around 1977 or 78. We also saw the begginning of Tora,Tora,Tora. I say beginning because about 5 minutes into the film they shut it off and said there were not enough people attending so we would have to come back at a later time ! (how cringe!)

That one spot you were at is the corner of Baker and Cedar streets and that's where they manufactured civilian and military Diamond Reo and White trucks. That plant ran from Baker about 1000 feet north to a set of railroad tracks and east to west from Washington to Cedar streets. The remainder of that plant was tore down in the early 80's after a fire destroyed a lot of it.

I actually was a stand-in on smoking the band at 1:00 and smoking the band at 2:00 and I rode with Burt Reynolds all the way up to Georgia to make this movie and I didn't even know who he was and I was scared to death I got to to meet Sally Field and it was a wonderful time I got paid $100 a day for two weeks and I didn't even know who Burt Reynolds was a Sally Field but Sally Field surely had a dirty filthy mouth but anyway rest in peace❤❤❤❤❤❤
