Oh dude, I didn't even think of linking it. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3025574678 That's the core mod and there are a few mods that this will require as dependencies (it'll say which ones you need if you go through Steam Workshop). Just hit subscribe and put them in the recommended order you see on the mod page. It's super easy! This build of the mod is a little unstable and I've had quite a few crashes.

It does have multiplayer but idk what the multiplayer is, I've never tried it out before! You should definitely grab it though, it's a super unique game! It scratches an itch no other game does. If you pick it up, we'll have to see how the MP works!

Lolol as many hours as I've got on this game, you'd think I'd be able to handle Lethal. Lethal is 100% agreed dreadful nightmare 😭 1 step forward, 3 steps back everytime

How bad is a miscast? I'm always so worried about that! Also, over overcasting also makes buffs like Danse Macabre an AoE? That vanguard deployment idea is actually super solid! It may also help to get ranged units out of the way quicker. That's a fantastic idea!

@@YithYaff I have put almost 2K hours into the Total War: Warhammer games. The heal spell will hit 5 or 6 units on an over cast. The miscast will do some damage but nothing really game breaking. The other buff will hit as many zombie units as are in it's casting area. Danse Macabre also makes zombies go from the second or third worst unit in the game to the equal of Grave Guard. Also if you want to use the camera in battle like Monsters Abound or any of the other Total War channels you need to record your battles and rewatch them while commenting. That is what they do. You have the three options when the battle ends. The top one lets you save the battle, the middle one lets you replay to try to do better, and the bottom one ends the battle. It takes more editing but you don't have to watch, comment, and play at the same time.

@@swimmingmide oh! Thanks for pointing out that feature to me! I'm assuming the "save battle" feature is the one that let's you go back and watch the battle? If so, does it let you manipulate the camera while viewing? I never tested this feature before but that kind of sounds perfect if you're able to go back and manipulate the camera for recording! I'll likely end up messing around with this feature, may do so off-cam on another campaign just to get used to using it and see how best to implement it. Thanks for the insight! Hopefully I can use this feature to make better videos! I'm wondering whether or not other Warhammer tubers usually let AI control their armies? Also, I'm going to start using the overcast feature as well. That sounds a lot more useful than targeting only a specific unit!

That's really the biggest deal I'm having overcoming this one. I really want to like the game because I think the world is cool and the survival systems mixed with Dark Soulesque combat sounds like great match, but the combat is just so bad :( But thank you!

I'm thinking about trying to get a coop partner, I feel like it would be more fun that way. I've played this a bit before and always bounced off it, I think mainly because of the combat. I'm hoping they have some great improvements in the 2nd game! Have you beaten it and all the DLC?

Omg, thank you for clarifying that for me! I always thought that they didn't route due to leadership but then I always wondered why leadership was even a factor for undead if they didn't route. This makes so much sense 😌 So leadership actually is important for an undead army

Do you mean encircle their city and try to starve them out or just straight up circle around them on the battlefield? I figured, as far as on the battlefield, zombies aren't going to have great maneuverabilty and against ratslingers, I thought getting up on them to overwhelm them with numbers of meat shields would do the trick so they wouldn't just sit and fire missiles the entire time. Putting zombies in the trees would've helped that though. They out maneuvered me, we started swinging the fight for a second until I lost track of their repositioning and I also had units sitting idle for a while by accident.

I'm gonna be honest, there was a lot of flanking you could have been doing. Can't remember the time stamp. But when an army of primarily chaff like that gets separated, that's bad. You want to keep em in a blob. First, Ghorst functions like a unholy lodestone chariot with a passive heal for every unit in his radius, so keep your army in a tight fleshy blob. It doesn't matter if you get flanked cuz you will most likely outnumber and outlast your enemy simply through your passive heal and Invocation of Nehek. Edit: Also at the bottom of your screen, there are 5 buttons below the settlement, hit the 4th one to the right for recruit lord. Also if you go into the screen to level up, there is a boot to replace lords, hit that and select Ghorst

Yeah, i definitely realized that in retrospect. I was WAY too worried about those missile units for whatever reason. Also, even with my zombies research, I wasn't confident that their stats would match up with the rats so I was trying to overwhelm them on their flanks so they wouldn't encircle me. Like you said, I think the tactic with the zombies is going to keep them all together like a blob. Still worried about future missile units though! Also, i didn't realize Ghorst had that passive ability. That's really useful knowledge to have! I think I need to focus more on invocation and danse rather than his magic missile. And yes! I remembered that far too late 🤣 I haven't played in a few weeks. That was entirely me being a dummy

Of course! This is also a learning experience for me because I usually give the AI debuffs so I stand a chance because I'm not super knowledged with the game (though I've got probably 40-50 hours on it). I've stunted myself playing against crippled AI. That said, I'm stoked to give myself tougher opponents than usual and to be doing a fun challenge run. Nurgle is scaring me though 😅

Not sure yet! I recorded a few vids to put up so I'm gonna see if anyone has any interest in those games too, but I'll likely do another SOD2 run just on a different map!

Thanks my friend! I usually try to do the same and focus on what were in a deficit of but I figured with lethal .ode, the morale penalties and chance of survivors leaving would be increased if food surplus ran out so that was main focus, that and meds being like the only way to heal my constantly injured survivors. Unfortunately, I hit a bit of a roadblock where it was getting to dangerous for my sick, injured and tired survivors to make it further out and scavenge new areas. I was hoping to get enough materials together to build up outposts and facilities to at least passively break even on food and meds but I keep getting curveball that with curveball that kill my income. Another commenter also mentioned Daybreak, I thought that was the other game mode. I didn't realize it was backup lol I'm definitely gonna utilize that! Tha k you for the advice! I'm feeling confident were gonna make a comeback! Thanks for thr love and support!!!

I think you're spot on with staying in place for longer than I did. In retrospect, I'm feeling like I was trying very hard to make "progress" quickly and not only overextended myself but made dumb, impulsive moves. I'd say on lower difficulties I'm more of an aggressive player, and with the skill and resources, I feel like you should be pretty aggressive on Lethal just to at least rid a sizeable area of plague hearts so you can have your situationally specific outpost needs met. I was super eager to get out of the house that anytime I accumulated even a few resources, I was throwing them into immediately clearing that are to get onto the bridge when I should've inched over to it while building my resources and characters up. I haven't seen the corner office base yet! This is definitely a map I haven't played on much, i usually just do a random map and this one hasn't come up often. Next time though, I'm gonna take your advice and be a little more passive and frugal rather than overextending the second I get a slight bit of confidence 🤣 Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@YithYaff Aggressive and passive is your approach to the game itself, with aggressive players they tend to be far more willing to take on areas with what resources they have at hand then looting after. They also tend to really love the combat in the game so most times opt not using stealth and taking on everything in a fight in other words calm situations stress out aggressive players while hectic situations make them more relax mentality. Passive players are those that slow down their approach to gather resources and power, in other words they will wait till they reach certain benchmarks they set for themselves before they progress. Then there is a combination of both mentalities a lot of players fall into this grouping with either some going a bit more one way or the other. The tip about stay in the first base in cascade is mostly what you gain out of each base when you move into it factoring distance, building slots and is it worth basing in. The bridge base doesn't really give a lot of value over the starter base in terms of what it provides, a tip is to look at the 6 person bases or maybe focus on clearing the area around the 8 man base and building your survivors numbers up to that.

@@diviners oh definitely! my only issue is I haven't been able to keep a 6 man team alive long enough to upgrade to a bigger base. it took me hours just to keep 4 alive long enough to get the bridge base hahaha I'm definitely a combo of both passive and aggressive, I want to take the stealthy, sneaky approach, but as as soon as I see an inkling of success, i get confident and then end up overextending my resouc4es and my actual gaming skills. im still working on finding that balance!

@@YithYaff Here are a few tips that should help you out a bit more with survivors overall, main reason for staying in the starter base a bit longer is to set up a level 2 infirmary that allows your survivors to passively heal. Food has the most impact with crippling your survivors when its out since it gives a stamina penalty when you run out so food is priority, ie starter base build the infirmary, work shop and garden. For outposts I find doing a food and med outpost is a pretty good start grabbing a second food outpost when you upgrade the command center is common. Now the benefit with the starter base at least for cascade, meagher and druckner is that it always starts with a kitchen and stam items are a king recovery item so ability to make even snacks is huge at the start. Now the one tip for taking out plaguehearts heavy weapons aren't the best they are the most cost effective intaking out a plague heart relatively speaking you can send out a survivor with just a heavy weapon and they can take out a plague heart just like that will it be easy....hell no but it is insanely cost effective. Now still on heavy weapons its the one weapon that I always advise people to focus on learning in combat when you get use to the stam usage of a heavy weapon it makes using the other weapons easier to handle since you now have a better idea of stam usage in combat due to the heavy weapon. There is a host of other tips but sometimes it is best to jump on in and discover it on your own think of these tips as a way to start branching out from them.

This was super helpful! As you saw from the videos, I was always sweating my food and meds for exactly those reasons. I truthfully have never really messed with cooking food in the game before nor have I really messed with the other benefits of the kitchen but that's something I need to look into! Also, does infirmary level 1 provide passive healing as long as you have meds? I could've sworn that's how it goes. I definitely need to get used to using the heavy weapons. I always shy away from them because of the stamina cost and slow swing animations but against plaguehearts, I've used them in the past to pretty good effect! I always get stir crazy being in the starter bases and want to move up and out but I feel like you're on the right track with getting super set up in the starter base. I feel depending on where I'm at, it'll make defending outposts so much easier too I stead of having to traverse half the map to stop an investing horde or to clear an already present infestation.

I didn't realize it was an actual Bethesda OG game too. I'm reading about it on Wiki right now to get a little more background. I've known about it for years and kind of figured it would be too dated to hold my interest, especially with the modern Elder Scrolls games being here and available to play. Now that I play it, it gives me such a nostalgia rush. I'm 33 now and most games from my childhood don't really hold up. But this feels like those fading, great memories of how I felt games were back then. Also, it's really refreshing to have a game that doesn't hold my hand. Too often, if you're not immersed, you'll skip dialog and defunct to that "go here, do mission, come back" mode and not really experience it outside of the gamification of it. I like that I have to pay attention and literally take notes like I have my own personal quest journal. It's just a really neat game. And it's incredibly impressive for something on MS DOS from 96. That kind of blows my mind. The sheer size of it and the interactions you have with the world and it's people. A friend of mine tried to get me to play it years ago and I shot it down but I'm glad to finally be checking it out. It scratches that 90s dark fantasy itch that not a lot of stuff can reach. The story in this one sets the entire stage for all following games. A lot of the lore which Kirkbride added in Morrowind had roots in bits of Daggerfall. It is dated, but Unity makes it so we can take this Conestoga wagon of open-world PC gaming out for a drive.

Dude, i was so overwhelmed 🤣 i didn't expect the game to really be so involved and cryptic. I thought it was gonna be just another "take this quest, go to this marker, grab some treasure". The first time I popped the world and local maps open kind of blew my mind!

I really liked the game too! It had it's issues and I wish it were a bit longer with more areas to explore, but it was an incredibly atmospheric game. It got left on a "to be continued" so hopefully the devs will add significantly more to the story and POIs.
