Cleaning up an Indestro combinatiin wrench with 7/8 open with a 3/4 box end... Nice one to add to the toolbox as well as a different odd drive socket.

Auction snag, 15pc Proto combination wrench set...

Auction snag, 15pc Proto combination wrench set...
We have the biggest outdoor flea market in North America in commerce City which is basically a suburb of Denver. Anyways, through the '90s and early 2000s when Sears was still around I bought every craftsman tool I would come across and never paid more than a couple bucks for a ratchet and a quarter for pretty much any size socket and I now have 3 to 400 sockets and probably 40 different ratchets that I now can't exchange (if needed) without basically having to pull teeth to get it done. Still, today's value is probably 3 to 4,000 for about 100 bucks worth of tools way back when.
Do you just use a wire wheel?
@@charles979 Not just a wire wheel, on grinders I have a wire wheel and a buffing pad the other one has 2 different fiber wheel, plus a wide assortment of brushes, pads, fiber bonnets, silicone abrasive discs for the dremels, It's a large variety of things depending on what I need, the detail or access issues... Some of the vids coming up in the next week or 2 shows some of what I use...
Nice haul I have the same industrio wrench it to has the hole in the handle and I belive the 8 point Blackhawk is 7/16 drive
Thanks.. it really is a surprise when you question whether you should take the time to work something and then it comes out very usable... That Wizard wrench is a first for me especially with the design on it.
Very nice! They all seemed to clean up good. It's always a surprise to see what's under the grime.
Nice clean up on the wrench. Those wrenches came in sets hence the hole in handle to accept a tapered screw to group them together. Auto-Kit was a popular brand . I have some complete sets and individual wrenches. Thanks for sharing
I found a set of Indestor wrenchs last week. I am looking forward to cleaning them up. Great job it looks good.
@@Dalesworkshop thanks, I am always learning different ways for different tools to clean d being them back for long life usage
Nice haul. A good assortment of useful stuff. After I clean the tools, I give them a spray with WD-40 Specialist silicone spray and let them sit and dry for a few hours, then wipe them off. It does a great job protecting them from the rusties.
A lot of good stuff in that lot. Can't have enough vice grips.
Nice haul.Very rare to see tools in this good condition
@@prasadvn524 that is true don't see lots come in such nice shape. Made the clean up a breeze. Thanks for stopping by and watching.
Nice! I like the caddy! I'm a sucker for the home made stuff too. Take it easy brother.
I pick up brushes when I find them also and the globe cup and carafe is very cool. I will be on the look out for them myself. I think Scoutcrafter started something. You had a good haul.
Very nice finds! Brilliant idea for the coaster! That's awesome! Wow Radio Shack, that takes me back a few years. Take it easy Brother!
Good finds my friend. I like the clamps and the needle files You got a couple good screwdrivers too. Very. cool.
Nice tool haul, does the RIDGID tubing cutter have a spare cutting wheel in the handle? Thanks for sharing
Excellent haul, That's a lot of Craftsman. I inherited a couple of complete sets from my Uncle. My SK and Williams are pretty much complete so Now I'm working on filling out Proto . Take care Brother catch up with ya later.
Not bad at all, great haul and at a good price.
@@Dalesworkshop thank you I get lucky sometimes.😁
I might have 2 in the garage 😆
@@nattypezman4894 I now have 4 plumb bobs In The box most were my grandfather's and over 50 years old, I am betting this is a 20.00 Lowe's special but still fun to clean up and get back to a nice condition again.
@@bigfootscave445 😁 the old ones come from my father-in-law. He also gave me a shaft driven grinder. It was powered by a large 1 HP motor.
Guess you'd call it an angle grinder. It was on a roll around stand and was heavy 😆. He worked at the old Dodge Main plant in Detroit a long time ago
@@nattypezman4894 my grandfather and grandmother worked for GM in Lansing
I have the same exact one 😁
That's an awesome road find! Came out Fantastic!!
@@Uwannawatch Thanks I have found this plus a Mayhew Dominator 24inch pry bar, a 3lb mallet, Craftsman aviation snips and a O'Reilly auto spark plug socket. All tidied up the mallet for a new handle.... All of this in a 30 day window.. keep the eyes open 😁😁
That was a very nice lot! Love the New Britain/None Better and the Kmart box. Take care Brother and I'll catch up with ya later.
Great design, I like the removable dividers.
Good job Bigfoot.
@@Dalesworkshop I enjoy taking scraps or odd things and making something from them.
That lot just keeps on giving! You know I love the SK and I always wonder what they needed the modified tools for.
@@Uwannawatch so true, with all the modded tools I have acquired I wish I knew the story behind them I think that would be amazing to learn. That lot has 1 more to go next Sunday... Then over the next couple weeks another estate sale and yard sale weekend added another pile of stuff.... It's a good thing there is not a 12 step program for tools I would never make the first step 😁😁😁
A good job refurbishing that wood plane, thumbs up & I subscribed, Cheers !
Not bad for a $3 haul.
@@Dalesworkshop most of those are going to my grandsons tool box. At 8 years old now he loves spending time in the shop and working with tools...
@@bigfootscave445 one day he may have his own channel,. Im trying to teach Opie and Archie but they would rather catch chip monks.
Although i didn't get to see the transformation it looks great. I hate it when I forget to turn the camera on. On the up side it does make for a shorter video. Great job. have a good one.
@@Dalesworkshop I am learning by the school of what did I do and why did I do it, doing the video thing is new. But I have always enjoyed cleaning and fixing things up so I get caught up just working on things and then remember after. Oops. Brining tools back to working state is very fun and relaxing for me ....
@@bigfootscave445 As Scoutcrafter once told me when i started restoring tools, it could be Addictive.
@@Dalesworkshop yes it is, especially when you see the end results and know it went from scrap to useful and now you need to bring more back to life...
Nice haul lots of good users. Take it easy Brother! Looking forward to seeing some more projects.
@@Uwannawatch 10-13-2024 will release the road find I did.. with month old granddaughter time spent there instead of trying my hand at videos so 2 more of that auction haul before the road find..
Nice! Looks like it'll be a great user and sometimes we all get into a project and don't film it. Take care Buddy! Back to shop work for me now.. See ya later!
Holy Smokes! That's a lotta tools! That Penn Craft is hard to find! I've only found it once! I sent it over to Mr. Dale from Dales Workshop. Proto and SK nice! I do remember Montgomery Wards! Nice finds! I didn't know you had a channel. Just found out! Subbed and will try to catch the rest of your vids. Take it easy Brother!
@@Uwannawatch enjoy his channel as I do yours
@@Uwannawatch between you, scoutcrafter, Dale's workshop, Ant1732 and a few other you guys have given me passion to bring older tools back to working order and the idea to play with TH-cam and videos... Again thanks for the ideas and tips ..
