A homenagem ao sr Manuel Canito é bem merecida,eu me lembro quando ele foi para a nossa Algarvia reger a nossa banda,pois antes dele o maestre e compositor era o meu saudoso Avô Ernesto Medeiros Borges.Deus que os tenha num bom lugar lá no Céu.

Such sad news today. A whole chapter of Portuguese culture and musical tradition is gone with the passing of Maestro Manuel Canito. A musical force to be reckoned with through his great compositions and for his way of teaching and grooming youngsters into the finest musicians for so many years. Obrigado Maestro Canito pelo seu incasável trabalho que ainda hoje e por muitos anos adiante deixara um legado imenso. R.I.P.

The musicians do a fine job but the tempo is too fast. I realize that marches played at a concert are often played faster than when played on parade, but this tempo goes too far. Was it presented as a circus "Screamer"? Even if that is the case, I think it moves too fast for the musicians and the audience to fully enjoy.

A Caminho do Túmulo

It wasn't horrible, but I thought there was room for improvement, honestly. Some of the low brass sections are playing a little harshly in a few spots, and I heard a few tonality issues. Phrasing was generally nice, and high winds sounded pretty good, overall. One relatively major thing I noticed was the tempo issue (there wasn't one person watching the conductor the entire time the song was being played lol). Again, it wasn't bad. Just constructive criticism.

No idea why the snare part is all changed around and why the woodwinds aren't aren't playing both times thru on the forte, but otherwise pretty well played I think!! :-)

I have this march sense 1976,quando o Chefe da Banda da Guarda era ainda o Tenente Silva Dionisio.

E triste bastante uma Filarmonica estar um Inverno todos a ensaiar musica e tentar dar um jeito numa pessa chamada 1812,com uma barulheira destas era prender a todos.

This is so hard...even for 2nd clarinet. I started studying this today in band and later in the piece is a high F written. Hardest piece I have played so far. These guys make it sound easy.

Why is it that the rythm accelerates when they play the fortes?! Insane!!! And that improvised snare line is pure non-sense... Joe! Chama a um advogado man!!! LOL!
