Dance Movement Therapy: Embodied Agency Within Constraint
Hello Creatives, Seekers, and Fellow Integrative Mental Health Care Providers,
Inspired by my work with bedridden patients navigating profound medical trauma, this movement sequence explores the depth of embodied expression within constraint.
Using only my hand-a body part some of my patients can still access-I imagined an entire world unfolding within its movement. This practice reflects the resilience I witness daily and reinforces my evolving role as a therapist, recognizing that healing and self-expression can emerge even in the smallest gestures.
This exploration also deepens my understanding of Dance Movement Therapy principles, emphasizing that movement exists on a spectrum and remains meaningful even in its most subtle forms. Therapeutic presence is not solely about guiding expansive movement but about attuning to what is possible for each individual. Through this lens, I hope to create space for my patients and clients to reconnect with their bodies, however limited, and access the wisdom within.

Neurographica Workshop: For Therapists Navigating CounterTransference
"draw circles for the areas of the body that are healthy and strong" oh well :( that's kinda hard in my condition. Should I focus on the parts that at the least sick? Or where i had improvements recently? My conditions spreads to basically everything so I cant think of a really healthy part :(
Focus on the parts of yourself that feel at ease-a fingertip, an earlobe, a toe, an ankle, or even your fingernails. When we're in pain or experiencing illness, our attention naturally gravitates toward the areas that need healing, often causing us to overlook the parts that remain unaffected. This response is part of survival. However, even briefly shifting our focus to what feels okay can provide relief, reminding us that not all parts of us are suffering. If this is not true for you, focus on sending yourself love and healing and being open to receiving it. I am sending you virtual hugs. May you be at ease from any suffering.
Excellent explanations and techniques 😊
Thank you!! XOXO
Much appreciated 🕯️ Blessings 🙏
You are welcome!
May I ask what kind of amazing paint markers are you using?
I am using Chartpak AD Markers. Here are my supplies list: www.sarawener.com/resources/creativity-suggestions
Can you please describe how this represents Letting Go? I’m looking for processes to help remove trauma from my body and help my community to heal from devastation
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest sympathy for the devastation your community has endured. I am creating vertical NeuroLines that extend across the page in this composition. On one side, I illustrate circles representing what I once had-whether relationships, experiences, material possessions, health, or other aspects of my life. On the other side, I depict what I envision for my present and future self. Some of these elements may mirror what I have lost, while others may be entirely new and divergent. To bridge these two sides, I illustrate Field Lines, symbolizing the presence of source or divinity as a guiding force-offering support in transitioning from what has been released to what is yet to come. As you create this composition, I encourage you to invite intuitive wisdom to flow in, allowing any insights or "downloads" to emerge and support you in your journey forward.
Sara❤ You are such a gifted inspiration! I thoroughly enjoyed the masterclass & I decided to keep working on it to make it neurographic art. "Nothing in Nature has a 90 degree angle" What about crystals or even salt?
You are correct, thank you for the correction. In nature, perfect 90-degree angles are quite rare, as most natural forms tend to be more organic and irregular. However, there are some instances where you can observe right angles or structures that approximate them such as crystalline structures, ie: salt and quartz 💜✨
Bright Blessings 🪔🪔💗🪔🪔 what a beautiful soul. 💗Shanti💗

You are very welcome. If you want to learn more, the links are below my video. And if you are interested in coaching, I am available to support you. Sending you many blessings. XOXO
Very advanced!
I hope you enjoyed this practice and found it to be supportive!
Hi Sara, Thank you for this algorithm. I took a bad fall about ten days ago so my hand is rather shaky still. I have rounded off the crisis points in the algorithm as best I can but there are still some lines that aren't quite as smooth as before. How "perfect" do the neurotrophic lines need to be?
Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your fall. I am sending you healing love your way. According to the institute and what I learned, when illustrating the ARL, rounding ALL angles and intersecting NeuroLines is essential. However, given that your hands are shaky, simply do the best you can and notice what comes up for you. This is not a practice of perfection, and rather a practice of process. Be gentle with yourself xoxo
Where are you from?

Thanks again Sara, 😢😊it bought back so many memories with my Beautiful lovely Wife 😍 now I am separated from her , you see my Beautiful loving ❤️ wife had extreme post natal depression 🫥 and to cut a long story short owe youngest 💔 was murdered by the NSW government of Australia, I could go on but I won't, owe Beautiful 💔 lovely Daughter that I have named her Aisha ❤️ 💙 ♥️ 😢 came to me unexpectedly 7 years later on my fancy Panasonic stero and spoke with me at 4am in the heavenly morning 🌄 ❤️ all is well now .I thought that you might understand my feelings and I wish to do your course as indicated in your TH-cam video, warmest wishes David 😀

Thank you XO
Wonderful video with so much information. Thank you for creating this and making it available. 🙏🏽
You are welcome! It was created for a graduate school assignment in which we had to select an expressive arts methodology and cater to a specific population in the form of a workshop. I decided to make this available for public viewing as it demystifies NeuroGraphica to a degree, especially given how much misinformation is out there and how little is available in English.
I have these cards and mainly use them as writing tools, excellent idea to use it for neurographica, thanks Sara! Sending you so much love ❤❤❤
You are welcome! XOXO
Sara as usual for myself you have great wisdom with you intents research and development work with Nurographical art . Can you explain more the aspect of 18 or more words to activate brain neurons?
Great question! The idea behind the 18-word rule is that engaging in detailed or thoughtful discussion can stimulate brain activity. When you talk about a topic for about 18 words or more, it usually requires more cognitive processing, which helps activate various brain regions involved in language, memory, and reasoning. Complex or novel topics tend to engage the brain more quickly because they challenge us to think critically and make connections. So, the more you elaborate on a subject, the more neurons get fired up as your brain works to understand and process the information. Scientific research empirically supports this concept; studies using MRI or EEG have shown real-time changes in brain activity as people engage in discussions.
@@sarawener thank you so much for your thorough explanation.
G'day Sara, all the way with you from the Land down under Australia. You are a God send ,you Sara are a old new soul and I have subscribed to your TH-cam video warmest wishes David Ashley Shepherd ❤️ 😊 😀 💙 💕 💖 ❤️ 😊
WOW! This was such a lovely comment. I appreciate you and your support. 🤍🤍🤍

Thank you! I appreciate you 🩷
Great video!! Are there any exceptions when it comes to step 8 stylization? For instance, can you incorporate neurographica with illustration? Thank you!!
Apologies for my late reply. As far as NeuroGraphica goes, yes, there are limitations to the 8th step. If the stylization becomes too decorative or predetermined, you are moving toward NeuroArt, or simply put, art. It is my belief that this work should be client-centered and if the user wishes to incorporate design elements, other materials, and so on, they should. But according to the founder, Pavel Piskarev, it will not longer be considered true NeuroGraphica. It is best to consult his materials for a better explanation and for a deeper understanding. I am not certified to instructor, only a certified specialist coach. This presentation was created for a graduate school class. Here is the official NeuroGraphica website: www.neurographica.us/
Wonderful art!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed creating it! Thank you for witnessing. XOXO

Could this process be used to lose weight and produce a fit body?
Great question! I think I will come up with a new composition for weight loss and another for a fit body. I have already created a video for eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Thank you for the idea. Stay tuned!!
