Why the HK MR 556A is the Ultimate Do-It-All Gun | A Must-Have for Every Shooter!
The same happened to me while I was shooting SA 1911 which I rented at my local shooting range. Every 4-5 shoots I felt explosion like double shot. I stripped the gun, briefly cleaned the ramp and the chamber but after 20-30 shots it started doing the same. I exchanged it to a Ruger 1911 and finished my shooting session without problems. I used the same ammo which has been always S&B 230 grain. My guess is that the cartridge was sitting too lose in the chamber with partial leak of gases. I do not recommend SA 1911, I used to own 3 different 1911s made by Springfield Armory, all 3 had problems. Quality wise those are pure garbage. I am talking about Ronin, TRP, Prodigy. I own 7 DW 1911, 3 Buls, 2 Staccatos, SW, and Fusion, and no filthy hands at least before 200-300 rounds, and no explosions. 45ACP versions usually having some problems with chambering and extraction after about 200-250 rounds, but it’s expected. I clean 1911s every 200-250 rounds. 9mm versions can run without malfunctions up to 500-600 rounds without cleaning. My DW guardian runs about 1000 rounds without cleaning. Staccatos run thousands or rounds without cleaning like Glocks. I would recommend to clean your 1911s after each trip to the range, or after 250-300 shots if you are shooting all day. Sell you Operator and purchase Dan Wesson instead. It’s more expensive but it’s totally worth the money.

I’m so used to carrying gear and heavy stuff I like it lol. My new tripod is extremely lightweight I will have it more in new videos. Some of my whitetail shots are over 450 yards out so a tripod really helps! Have a great Thanksgiving, my friend!

I don’t know your area but do you ever rattle rut or post rut. Rattling works very good here in west Texas. I rattled up a very mature buck for my wife last weekend.
@@Trapper-tr3sd absolutely. I’ve had a great success with grunting and rattling post rut. Especially in areas that are unpressured. Thank you very much for the comment!
@@foxf6 thanks, great content as always my friend.
Nice weapon. I had those grips on my commander back in the late 90s. After about a year they started getting sticky and rubbing off like a cheap remote control. I put some mother of pearl on it and thats what it had when i sold it. I carried it on duty at the S.O.. I had a deal on PMC ammo and it was pretty dirty after a day on the range.
@@sgtgrantham thank you for the feedback!

The dirty hands is crap ammo that is sooting. (PS Experienced .45 ACP owner, USMC Veteran)

Pachmyer grips, those were on our 1911s in the Marine Corps. It's the dye coming off the grip. It never goes away. I had mine for 7 years in the Marine Corps, same grips, 3 different 1911s, and they always got our hands tacky and dirty. My gloves looked like I tared a road.
lol, thanks for the feedback, how was it as far as reliability?
@foxf6 my 1911s in the Corps were top notch. I never had a failure out of them. They were always hand built by our 2112's. But I had two that the frames cracked. My first one was issued in 1997, had a springfield slide and a wwii GI frame. 4 digit sn. The frame cracked after a few years.
@@caatmarine777 about how many rounds average did you see when the frame cracked?
@foxf6 i had 2 work ups in that time frame, we would shoot any where between 5k and 8k rounds. So, a few lol. After the work up, they are rebuilt before we deploy.
I'm not having any luck calling in coyotes when theres background noise from vehicles I think I gotta wait until 1am the thing that confuses me is I see those coyotes running across the highway all the time so not sure if they're scared of car noise or not
@@zach6383 those coyotes are used to cars. Check your wind I can almost guarantee you your wind is blowing right into where they are coming from. Change your calls up and do different calls. Remember, use odd things like a woodpecker or Bluejay if you overuse calls they will know your bluff.
@@foxf6 thank you bro!!
@@zach6383 also if you think those coyotes are close, start off with a lower volume distress. Don’t blast it. don’t give up man eventually you will figure out what works..right now I’m having really good luck with pup distress young coyotes are about six months old so it makes mommas curious or alpha males.
@@foxf6definitely not giving up this gave me hope
She's a little sticky. But how's those shield mags? Most all the professionals say to only use oem glock mags? Is it worth the extra 5 rounds for potential failure?
@@Eyesontheprize27 i’ve never had one failure out of my shield mags been rocking them for over three years thousands of rounds through it, and I treat the thing like a dirtbike. Best advice buy one put a bunch of rounds through it and see what you think. I have no regrets.
Missed The Livestream Fox Hope to Catch The Next One 😀 Florida Weather Is Great Now 😀 Fox Sound is Great Video Is Not Too Blurry Dropping The Slide on an Empty Chamber Causing Issues is an Old Wives Tale There Would Sure Be a Lot of 1911’s Broken Over The Past 115 years If That Were The Case 🔫😎 I Wouldn’t Do It Repeatedly In Rapid Succession For Hours on End But During Normal Use Don’t Even Consider That Happening I’ve Got Thousands of Rounds Thru My Colts and ATI and Never Had a Sear Issue 😀 You Can Damage Your Extractor By Tossing Loose Rounds In The Chamber and Releasing The Slide BeCause The Extractor Is Not Designed To Snap over The Cartridge Rim The Extractor Is Designed To Have the Cartridge Fed Up and Under The Extractor As Is When Fed From The Magazine Other Than That a Good 1911 Series 70 Is Bullet Proof
Hey brother sorry I missed this one. Looking forward to next live
Thanks! i mentioned your channel here but butchered the name lol. we need to live stream sometime.
Practice Practice Practice The 3 P’s 💨💨💨🔫😎😇
I own the same model pistol, the Springfield Armory MC Operator. I didn't care for the Pachmayer grips, so I changed to a set from Wilson Combat. I also installed a Stan Chen SI mainspring housing/mag well and added some front strap grip tape which made a big difference to the handling of the pistol. Mine is a tack driver, and I carry it often.
@@williammatthews2948 I’m glad I’m not alone with the grips. I’m not much of a fan since the video. It is extremely accurate!
@@foxf6 Mine shoots almost as well as my TRP.
I settled on a sig spear. After going thru the cheaper ar10 hurdles of unreliability and ammo sensitivity and overgassing issues i let sig rip me off...its a pretty good rifle tho so far...still ammo picky as far as accuracy
that's a great choice I've been down both rabbit holes. i went LMT and LaRue and did adjustable gas blocks. own a Spear as well so it is what it is, id say good choice though.
@@foxf6 no doubt...I had to change out the stock and grip man...I liked the factory grip but the angle of it sucked...I went w an ergo grip and man it changed the geometry...tho it's still heavy its alot less "awkward heavy" for me
@ man the spear will be a staple in the gun world for years to come. I think it will continue to gain popularity. Have you shot much groups with it?
@@foxf6 yes...but not lots of ammo types...I've took it out to 600m w m80 ball and not so good ammo. Rn it is zerod w hornady black 168s and it throws ab a 1 and 1/4 to 1.5 in group...m80 ball or something to the likes of 147 to 150 grain it's ab 3 to 4moa

Really shouldn’t drop the slide without a loaded mag. You can damage the sear/hammer engagement. These ain’t a Glock sir.
@@maxmccain8950 shame, belongs in the trash can. Pretty gun though!
