This is a drum cover of Taste in Men by Placebo.
It is part of my STUDENT SERIES. The idea behind this video originated in my drum lessons. Some students told me that they looked for drum cover videos of songs they were learning to have an example of how the song should sound in the end. So I decided to start recording the songs I'm doing with my students to give them just that. I usually transcribe the songs I'm doing with my students and I tried to stick as closely as possible to this transcription. And since it is the easiest way to share it with them I uploaded it to TH-cam.
I used the moises app to reduce the original drumsound.

So I decided to start recording the songs I'm doing with my students to give them just that. I usually transcribe the songs I'm doing with my students and I tried to stick as closely as possible to this transcription. And since it is the easiest way to share it with them I uploaded it to TH-cam.

The game is very neat..
I've been learning for about 1 calendar year. I'm not getting in the practice I'd want but I'm trying my best. Granted I'm 100 times better than when I started but man, sometimes I think I'm terrible! How much damn practice do I need to do haha. I've been working on my kick drum/placement for the last several weeks. At least now I can move the kick pattern around. Before if it wasn't on the (1 or 3) or any (and) I struggled. Good job man. I would love to play this song someday
@@lobbyrobby Thank you, I‘m glad you like it. It‘s a long road, that‘s true. Just keep going. Record yourself (even just with your phone) so you can listen back after some time and recognize the progress you made. Practicing regularly and steadily is better that practicing for long hours but with big gaps in between, eg. it‘s better to practice 3x 30min per week than once for 1,5h. If you have the feeling that you are completely stuck and don‘t know how to advance any more, look for a professional drum teacher! The right teacher will help you speed up your progress!
@@HannoKerstan I have both a e kit and an acoustic kit. I have recorded myself on the E kit and just yesterday I was listening back to my previous recordings. It's very easy to see that I am way better. I'm not as far as I would like to be but maybe I'm just being hard on myself as you said it is a long road. Thank you

getting drums for christmas unfortunately electric so hopefully i can work with it and im going to self teach myself until i can eventually cover chop suey!!
@@lancer_r electronic drums are good if you have to practice silently. Start slow, set reachable goals (simple songs) and practice steadily. If you find yourself getting stuck look for professional drum lessons in your area!

Thank you! I also was quite happy with the sound. The snare is a 14x6,5 Sensitone Aluminum with an Evans Hydraulic Black on top. This is actually the only snare that I like with that head.
