That will be awesome for a snowblower to wheel it around and lift a tractor etc...be sure to get the harbor freight lift table as well. its worth its weight in gold. pumping the pedal is easy, no wires, no compressor.
They built stuff to last back then, and over time they have improved on alot of things since then. The best ones were probably made in the early 70's or early 80s with better, safer controls, and more powerful engines. But for a 3 horse, that one did a fine job!
The reason all those shields are all over every part of the engine is because this was before they invented cold weather engines, so without those shield to protect it and keep the heat trapped in the engine, the engine would freeze up. I was lucky to get the shields for mine from the Yahoo group for Snowbirds long time ago.
Nice collection. I just aquired my 2nd DB today. I have the 1st tore down to the gearbox and it has alot of rust and a broken intake elbow along with a pitted clutch plate. It once was whole and now it is basket. The work to get these tractors going is a wonderful hobby and therapeutic
These are beautiful machines and being involved all my life in small engine repair I'm surprised I've only learned about these recently. You have a really nice collection as I've seen on another vid.😉👍
BTW, I just traded a car for a DB mod. # 917.575 135 and I'm trying to learn if it's a super or not. The engine is a Briggs mod. #143302 and I think it's not original. But I'm interested in any literature or forums if you could help. Thx for the vids.😉👍
I just picked up a Hein Werner 3000 lb bumper jack like yours . How do you drain the oil in these ? Also how do you know how much to put back . Do I use hydraulic or motor oil ? Never had or seen one of these . Any help I would appreciate . Thanks
My dad has one of those a snap on one, really old , picked up my chevelle from the rear no sweat, , that's a great and useful piece of mechanical history 👍
My dad's family is in the trash business and we have one of these old beasts hanging around our garage. it's mostly gone, no hood. But repairable. On the tires. They make them break down and degrade a lot better now. old tires will be haunting our landfills for years. They float to the top of the landfills which is one of the reasons they don't want them.
I made some weights for the front of the tractor and they help a lot lifting and turning the tractor, the weights didn't affect the cultivator any working, I use the weights with the plow also
You probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me

I just bought one exactly like this yesterday for $40! I can’t wait to get it cleaned up and running and give it a go.
Have the last model you showed, Just got it unseized, had been sitting unused for 30+ years. Tires aired right up.
I took a 64 Broadmoor apart this winter just getting it back together now.
What's with the closed in side borders? Can't see much with the closed in side borders there.

See , David Bradley clearing cane rows
