Just picked up this banger of a game, excellent explaination!!

6:20 they should’ve included a couple of ghost tokens to indicate if the choices are correct or not.

I made up a variation with the vision cards: you can also give them turned around (upside down) to indicate this vision is a negation. For instance if you have an inside murder location, you could give the negation of a card with a setting outside. If you combine these with the standard/affirmative/positive card, you could have some more interesting options too.

Thanks for the video! In summary, here’s how to play Coup in just 100 words: Players start with two action influencer cards in hand and two coins. Win by eliminating all opponents’ influencers. On your turn, either take 1 income coin, take 2 foreign aid coins (can be blocked by any opponent’s Duke card), neutralize opponent’s card with 7 coins, take 3 with your Duke, eliminate a card with Assassin and 3 coins (blocked by any Contessa), exchange Ambassador to select 1 of 2 drawn cards, steal 2 with Captain (blocked by Captain or Ambassador). Turn one card up when challenged for action or block without card, or making failed challenges. Replace all challenged cards.

I have played this game as a psychic three times, and never really understood what the ghost could and couldn’t do. I just bought it and was thinking about teaching my family, but I knew I needed to really dig into the rules to be able to teach it. Thank you for this awesome video! I understand so much better now

very good explanation - i was going to play this game, but the first phase was kinda complicated for me to understand on the fly: your vid cleared the things up now for the end phase: as far as i know the ghost, after picking three of the vision cards it wants to show, has to shuffle them before putting them on the table for everyone (so even the ghost doesn't know which card will reveal first)

The video has an error in the rules. On page 7 of the rules it states. "As soon a Psychic receives their Vision Cards, they can look at them and show them to the other Psychics." There is also a note that states. "Note: Psychics may start to discuss and even place their pawns and tokens as soon as they receive their cards, even if the hourglass has not yet been turned over."

Very helpful video thanks. Could I just check what happens to incorrect clairvoyancy tokens. If you guess wrongly do they get discarded until the start of phase 4 and is there no impact on clairvoyancy tracker? Thanks
