Edit.: and when it comes to non-BM albums, i will say it as i think it and die on that hill... The new Linkin Park album. Love it! 🤷 Also the Make Them Suffer Album is another amazing non-BM album this year for me. Fun stuff.

Thanks for the video, and for the gig story. I couldn't agree more, DSR makes such good sounding tapes, even though they are all ferric. I don't know if it's the tape itself or the recording machines, but I've heard modern CrO2 tapes that aren't as good. I think Nuclear Blast also makes good sounding tapes, judging by the Dismember ones I have. Somebody online was talking about how crap modern tape is and about how there simply isn't any good sounding modern CrO2 tape. Old tapes that I buy, from 70's-90's all sound fine. With new ones it's a hit or miss. I guess if you really care about a certain album, you can record it yourself on a type 4 tape on a good deck from a good source, and stick that into the cassette - now that's an expensive album!

we dont have same taste for sure when i see your top 1 album is austere because i dont like it at all. i think its a personal thing and saying which album is the best and rank them is useless to me.

Eu sou um adolescente vivendo no interior do Brasil, então não existe literalmente ninguém aqui que compartilhe dessa paixão minha pelo metal. Você tirou outras fotos do Jon nessa tour? Queria muito ver, especialmente se tiver alguma com ele comprando a camisa do Inter que você falou no podcast KKKKK. Amo as coisas que você tá envolvido. Thy Light é a minha banda brasileira preferida, ela simplesmente se conecta quase que espiritualmente comigo quando eu estou escutando os álbuns, é muito foda.

Excellent list, thank you for putting this together and sharing your thoughts on all those excellent releases. I also have Predatory Light ranked high and I felt while being a major label release, it dropped and was quickly overlooked among the other albums coming out earlier in the year. Worm is on my personal list of favorites, although I wish it was a full-length. Negative Plane have not decided but may just be my #1 of the year I'll have that decided by next yeek. I am subscribed to the black metal promotions youtube channel and it is an amazing source for discovering new bands, but was not aware of the website too, thank you. Cheers Mr, Witchfinder!

O Ultha não me pegou tanto, apesar de gostar desses elementos post punk deles, q me lembraram o Killing Joke um pouco. Fåvnesbane é uma banda q mistura esses dois elementos muito bem e q me pegou mais, talvez seja por ter menos camadas. Mas eu gostei pra caramba do seu tops do ano. Vc chegou a escutar Konvent?

Agora só falta a legenda kkkkkk Muitas coisas q estão na minha lista de melhores foi por indicação sua e do Goatcast. Dois q eu curti pra caramba e n estão aí são o In Aphelion e o Kvaen.

Great video Alexander! Many great memories as well. I´ve seen Dissection in Fraureuth/Ratskeller with Satyricon and Gorgoroth, at Wacken, on the Dimmu Borgir tour and in Bamberg/Germany in 2005. I still have all the albums on vinyl so I haven´t decided about getting the boxset yet, haha... But I know Darkness shall rise always does a nice job. Again: Thank you for sharing the stories!
