Mick Ronson Music Foundation Awards 2020
The Foundation is a charity set up to benefit and promote education of young people within music.
Awards of up to £1000 will be given annually to between two and four musicians aged 18 to 25 years old to support their further education studies, purchase musical instruments, fund recording and performance projects, making video content and / or giving financial assistance for courses.
Recipients must be attending an accredited further or higher education course and have a residential address in East Riding of Yorkshire. Applicants must demonstrate that they have experience of writing, producing or performing music for an audience and set out very clearly how the funds will be used to support their development. Requests to fund business overheads like professional fees or marketing costs are not eligible.
Applicants will be asked to submit audio examples of their work as a musician and to make a video answering specified questions about their musical achievements and ambitions.
Applicants with current management, label representation, publishing etc. are ineligible for this grant.

Great version. Violin so suits his singing and overall style. Mainly why I still so rate those first two C. Rebel albums. Without sentimentality, they were were also a fabric of my early listening back then which never leaves a person.
Saw Steve in Sunderland,June 2023,gutted that was the last time watching him live

Ironic that Mick Ronsons name lives on with this foundation to help young musicians with a modest amount of money to help them on their way. Ironic because Mick was apparently far from being a wealthy man himself having been excluded from lucrative credits in what should have been them most financially productive stage of his career. I'm a Hull lad and we are very proud of Mick and grateful too for Steve Harleys efforts to keep his spirit going. Both great musicians but more importantly both good men.
I always smile to myself when you meet someone who says 'I hate country music.'
