My 2 cents of the storyline: Theyre all are superbeing from another planet. Came to earth with superpowers. All enjoying themselves with their abilities, except Giselle who just wanna adapt and be normal here. Giselle hesitates to invite them for her birthday. Meantime shes harassed by all 3. Karina (vampire with superpower) is being destructive and breaks her phone, NingNing (firestarter) burned down her apartment and Winter (an elf that can fly) playfully flying around creating a tornado. All this to get Giselle to go Supernova and finally join them. And when she does join them.....Armageddon?!

I think that the backlash on BATTER UP was overly harsh. Batter up means the next player to step up to the plate. The song is basically an homage to their seniors which is the reason that it was so YG encoded. In the lyrics they say, "Let me show you who we are" meaning that they are now ready to take their turn at the plate. I really don't think that BATTER UP was supposed to be their debut track but they had to pivot because of Ahyeon needed to take time off for medical reasons. What it seemed like was that they were unsure if Ahyeon wouldn't have been able to return so instead of postponing BABYMONSTER's debut they released BATTER UP as the debut and holding the title track in hopes that she would be well enough soon that she could rejoin the group for their mini-abum. It was unfortunate that Ahyeon couldn't join them in that debut or for STUCK IN THE MIDDLE but now that she is back it shows the difference that one member can make. The min-album is diverse in its tracks and you can tell that Ahyeon is the catalyst of the group. I am not an Ahyeon stan (Rami is my bias because I love her vocals) but without her for some reason the group seemed incomplete. With her back in the dynamic range of the vocals become greater and it adds one more to the rap line giving the group more versatility. If Chiquita also gets good enough to start rapping on tracks then the group goes to another level. The group also breaks the rules of positions in K-pop because how do you say one is main and the other is lead? So BABYMONSTER is really a fitting name for this group.
