Perfect !!!
First
I love this so much, you have made the time I spend retro gaming look beautiful!! Thank you so much for putting in the time to make retro games look better for plebs like me ❤️
This by far is the best crt shader i ever seen you are the goat
Man you're the G.O.A.T, love your work!!
your work on this is amazing! thank you so much for bring your presets to reshade, now i can play the PS2 games without a bad quality image
Thank you so much for making this. I hate using RetroArch.
I cannot thank you enough for this bro, really amazing work. I'm bad at optimizing CRT reshades, you've made me so happy playing my games again.
Love your filter! I was wondering if you know how to set up the borders/curvature with the 4:3 aspect ratio. I want to simulate the CRT curvature like shaders in retroarch, but the settings only apply to 16:9. Any insight would be appreciated!
It's not ideal, but there is a way. Assuming you're using a CRT-guest preset: you have to be able to stretch the 4:3 content to fullscreen, then open up the .ini file or Reshade ui(home key) and look for "OverscanX". Hold ctrl and set the value to -400 (not sure what the exact value should be). That should stretch it back to 4:3 with correct curvature.
wont show up in reshade and the readme was vague
you nailed it with your settings!!!!!
Seems a tad too dark, otherwise awesome
Does this work for sega saturn games?
Hey, fella, just a heads up regarding v43: Color temp is a bit too warm, and the colors themselves appear oversaturated. Still, thanks for bringing some CRT shader presets that we can use for older PC games and some not-Retroarch emulators!
Could it be a little less dark? or canyou gudie us on the parameterto modify? thanks! keep the good work
Try the presets from the "NoGammaChange" folder
For some reason when I use these shaders, or any crt shader with resolution settings, the game always looks broken and blurry when using low-resolutions, do you have any advice on how to fix this?
I assume you're trying to use this on old PC games that only boot in low-res fullscreen. Unfortunately, your only hope is to find a mod/patch/remaster/source port/emulator that supports borderless fullscreen window or high-res fullscreen.
@kyubus7814 I'm referring to using these with emulators like you are in the video. They look fine in the video, but when I use your SD settings, they look wrong. I can send a picture if necessary.
@@kyubus7814 I can send a picture if need-be
@@drivermanboything Okay, the emulator you're using maybe isn't set to integer scaling, or you may be using a resolution that's incompatible with the presets, modifying the Y resolution in preset would fix that.
How can I add this to Steam retroarch?
In Steam, right click RetroArch > Manage > Browse local files. Install Reshade to that location. The default rendering api I believe is Vulkan. Then copy the zip's contents to the same location.
no intelligence to say if this can be used in retroarch?
Absolutely, it can. There are some retroarch shaders as well in the Extra's folder if you don't want to deal with Reshade
@@kyubus7814 I tried the retroarch shader and I get a blurred image without decent pronounced scanlines, nothing like the crisp example shown on github with nice defined scanlines
@@kyubus7814 I tried the retroarch shader and it's blurred and nothing like the nice crisp example on git hub
@@kyubus7814 I keep posting a message and it gets deleted The RA shader looks blurred. It's the third time I've written this message
@@kyubus7814 how do I get it looking crisp like in the sample image? It is blurred in RA
Love the shaders! Works amazing in so many games. I do have an issue in one game though which I've struggled to figure out, in Stardew Valley whenever I move vertically the effects stop working and there is some screen tearing/jitter, I've not really been able to figure out what settings I should use to get it to properly display
That sounds really strange, maybe there is a conflicting keybind to the Reshade hotkeys? You may need to remove those. I've got it working just fine on Stardew using OpenGL.
@@kyubus7814 I'll see what I can figure out, it's specifically when the screen scrolls the effects seem to stop working Also late reply a few months later but the MvC collection came out and I was wondering if there's a setting/way to get the shader to only affect a portion of the screen so it just affects the center 4:3 area and not the side banner art
@@Lyndis_ Yes, you can create a mask for static ui like that. Install UIMask.fx from the Reshade setup default shaders, you can find instructions how to use it at the Reshade interface.
the greatest crt shader ive ever seen man holy shit
Now I would use FakeHDR Reshare filter to bump up the brightness again... that should look great. ^^
Does that actually work? My one and only complaint to these otherwise amazing shaders is how much they dim the picture, which isn't what CRTs did
Can it be played in 1280x720 resolution?
Looks amazing, see the warmth and depth, character no longer looks like a paper-cut out figure, and have weight too. If this can also apply on watching movie, that would be a great thing! Every new smart tv should have this kind of visual effect built-in their tv function.
It can be used for watching videos. Reshade can be installed to media player MPC-BE (dx9) or Shaderglass. But it won't work on capture-protected apps such as Netflix.
Could you show more with ps2 games?
Sure. Only the trouble with 480p or higher content is that it's hard to record because of youtube compression. So I've got 3 options, record a full image but without any movement, crop the image/zoom in, or use a shader without any scanlines.
@@kyubus7814 i dont mind the zoom
Looks just like the old 13 inch wood grain crt I had as a kid that my C64 was hooked to
Get better contrast with
Nice work, scanline fillters more often than not, dissapoints me, beucase they look irregular or not strong enough. Plus, the video was great, very nice selection of games to show (Streets of Rage 1, StarCraft, Turtles In Time, Mega Man X, Castlevania, etc, the top notch of so many systems).

pretty cool not gonna lie it destroy CRT royal and the other dark and blurry shaders this is how a crt looks dude Good job
Thank you, these are awesome. Is there any chance of 4K CRT-Guest presets? Also is there any difference between "kyubus-royale-lowres-4k" and "kyubus-royale-lowres-4k - Copy"? I'm not sure if one was meant to be a non-lowres version or if there is another difference between them I couldn't tell
Thanks! Yes, I will port over the crt-guest presets to 4k. No difference between those files, just sloppy of me to leave that there. I haven't looked at the 4k presets past half year. It's on my to-do list.
Oh shit a new version!
Hi please make tutorial using your shaders, on 1080p monitor
I have ported as many presets as I can today to 1080p, checkout the new version and instructions.
Thanks Kyubus, I use your shader since v20.
