i was playing this, and had 2 orcs lined up that i was considering for overlord. But i went after the warchief bodyguards first. and i paired the two up to ambush him. they got him, and i was heading back when one of the orcs betrayed me. i beilive his dialogue was "you play too fair." and he had taken the other orc hostage, and downed him. i revived him and we took down the traitor, and i shamed him into going crazy. i encountered him again while i was huting the warchief. i debated shaming him again, but decided to put him out of his misery instead. as for the other orc, he did as i said, completed all the tasks, and was my lead chief in the assault, so i rewarded him by making him overlord. shame, if that other orc had just been patient, he woulda been overlord. instead he went mad and then got a sword to his neck.

It happened to me now. Seems that they didnt fix it.

For some reason the game calls it betrayal. But this encounter is actually a rebellion. Rebellions are rare and happen when you have to many Orcs or you die or get humiliated a lot.

I had one Ur-Hakon Pain-Lover, one of my Warchiefs in Gorgoroth. Did an Endless Siege, I got pinned down elsewhere, couldn't reach him as he bled out. Some time later, I am chasing one Nakra Longtooth, nice for a Bodyguard, when I hear "Paindealer!" And there he is, ready to serve. So I took him on instead, once Nakra was killed to get him leveled up properly. Things were good... ...until I was facing off an Iron-Willed and tried summoning him, by which he opted to betray me. I focus on him, Break and Shame him. Except I'm not done. I continue to go after him, attacking, Breaking, and Shaming him. Slowly, he down-levels, becoming mortally vulnerable to fire, poison, and headshots, but I keep it up until he gets below 10, and is now just Ur-Hakon and constantly screaming "I can't feel it!" I took off the Gem to help him level and re-recruited him, and promptly sent him against my strongest Captain in the Pit. He didn't last even two minutes.

My advise but no guarantees to avoid betrayals. This is MY EXPERIENCE. 1) Don’t level them to your same level. Keep them 2 levels down. 1 is fine but just for reassurance 2 is best. 2) Don’t kill their blood brother. Either recruit (whether useless or not) or shame. If useless, send them to any fighting pit to die. 3) Don’t attack/hit them several/many times when they’re your ally. 4) Give some orders to them to do stuff. Not everyone but just a few or some Captains are enough. 5) Don’t die. At least, not too many times. You may respawn many times over but they’ll see that as weakness. Orks/Orcs follow strength. 6) Don’t let your fellow Captains “Bled Out”. Revive them as much as possible. 7) Try not to let too many of your Captains die. Heavy casualties shows poor leadership & that you don’t care about them. 8) Avoid running away from Captains when fighting. At least, a few or some but don’t do it too many times. They think it’s cowardice rather than it being a tactical retreat. In other words, don’t try to leave the battlefield at least. For example, you can be near the outpost/fortress but don’t go too far after you’ve encountered them. 9) Honor your death threats. Avoiding to kill a Captain that you have a death threat to will be seen as dishonor. Another cowardice act. Meaning don’t take too long to kill him. 10) Shame to help reduce betrayals. Keeps your followers in line & loyal to you. Avoid doing it too much. Do it from time to time. 11) Careful not to keep changing the Overlord. Demoting them isn’t ideal especially those who may have served longer & loyal. Same with Warchiefs.

remeber i had something similar, but before i died i had one of my orks save me and win a 1v3. that ork became overlord.his name fit. horshgrim the fearless

run this mission 150 times still nothing, probably bug. Even had stalker but no larvling

jeez you guys have some very low leadership skills what the hell were you telling them to do? 1 betrayal can be expected 4 at once thats clear signs of problems with management

I had an Olog for quite some time on my side. We went through a lot together and he helped me take down a significant number of Uruk-leaders. As a reward I planned to present him a fortress, but before I could do that, he suddenly betrayed me AND he got the Iron Will, which left me heartbroken for quite some time. I couldn't kill him at first and even helped him climb the ranks, since I at least wanted him to be happy. But later on he started to hunt me or intervene with my other missions (he even killed a new bodyguard of mine) I tried to shame him to remove the Iron Will, but he became deranged instead. Then I felt like, I HAD to kill him, since this was not what he deserved. I stopped playing for a few weeks after I took him down.

Depending on your difficulty you can torture them or just kill them quick so you Survive

I was in my fortress in front of the door to the throne when an uruk pushed me. I thought he would get demolished until I saw the text. Instead of "Betrayal" it wrote "Treason" and I saw multiple captains around me. I activated "I AM the Senate" mode, killed most of them and shamed the 2 I wanted back. Very satisfying.

Can't believe you forgot all of their birthdays on the same day.
