Concorde's last flight from Heathrow
The date is 26 November 2003. This is the last ever Concorde take-off, as Concorde G-BOAF leaves Heathrow to return to Filton. Apologies for the shaky video! I was standing outside the airport perimeter fence and it was a cold windy day. Commentry is courtesy of an airband radio held next to my camera and I think this adds to the sadness of the day. Hope you enjoy this. It was a sad day in the history of aviation.

WHY ! was this allowed She had lots of life left in her
A very emotional ATCO (Brian Ringrose) there. Well done chap.
Very moving tribute to Alpha Fox and her crew. It could almost be a regular scheduled flight - and then the crew and ATC say goodbye to each other, and it hits you all over again that this is the last flight.
Thanks for your nice comment. Even though I filmed this, I watched it again today - 20 years later! It is still just as moving as it was in 2003. Sad day, and I'm not so sure the World is a better place 20 years on. Great memories of Concorde, though, and so glad I experienced one flight back in 1987. At least Alpha Fox has a great home now in Bristol.... they have done a great job there. Long live AF. 😊
@@jkirk3043 Yes, I felt very strange and sad when I was watching it. Today has seen commemorations of Concorde at Rooklands Museum as well as at Filton, with the Concordes both moving their noses - which is great, as far as it goes, but compared with the rush of power and beauty we saw when Alpha Fox overflew Bristol that last time, it is a rather sad and faint echo of what we used to have.
20 years on and I’m still pissed it was retired.
I saw Concorde land in Barbados for the Queen's return trip in the 1980s (cant recall the date), I visited one in service on the ramp in Barbados when I was working at the flight kitchen, and I've visited the Concorde Museum in Barbados. What a fascinating machine.
Thanks for your comment, Sean. You have some good memories of Concorde. I would love to see the Concorde at the Barbados Museum - it is G-BOAE, and I went on that one in May 1987 when Concordes were used on pleasure flights in the UK. That was a day to remember, too!
What an amazing take off! Nothing like it at all!
Climbing out like a home sick Angel. 🥰
Nearly 20 years ago look in background t5 getting built as Heathrow gets bigger into the future
What a pitty it is not flying anymore..... Always wondering
Yes, you are right. Such a shame we don't see Concorde in the sky anymore; hard to believe it'll be 20 years in 2023! It was a daily sight in London, but we don't appreciate things until they are gone!!
It cannot happen, there is no Chevron M2V hydraulic fluid available so the hydraulic systems cannot be powered. And no certificate of airworthiness. Sorry everyone, dreaming is all there is.
The soggy colony morphologically grease because resolution sicily program throughout a mindless sagittarius. sleepy, squealing ex-husband
😭😭😢😢🤘🤘
still the saddest day of my life..I watched her land at Filton that day. I will never forget her...
Great video. I was at the other end of the runway
Thank you. It was a chilly day but we witnessed a moment of aviation history.
Miss you Concorde...
Amazing
Amazing takeoff performance. Great record of the final departure from Heathrow. 👏
Thanks! Coincidentally 17 years ago today!!😁👍
If concorde was still around i could watch it from my window :((
A Sad Day, Gone But Never Forgotten.
yep a very sad day for everyone at british airways and air france
Who cares? We beat the yanks to supersonic commercial flights that's all that matters! In the history books undeniable.
Cant believe its been 14 years since we said goodbye. It still angers me to this day. We need to get one flying again for ceremonial duties.
the red arrows looked alot better with her leading the way on the queens birthday parades
DaveClass47 its over pal. Great plane but she’s retired.
true
Too expensive..she is retired now.
After takeoff clearance the pilots say 321 now for the last time.
i didn’t hear that. But what power and then a very vertical climb!
@@carolfreitag6847si asi se mira,no se si asi se vera x la grabacion o si realmente estaba demasiado vertical pero pero con esas turbinas no eran ningun problema para el concord, cosa que cualquier otro avion no lo lograria despegar
It will return, I have no doubt about that. Look up Save Concorde Group,
Meh, ya might want to get a little more realistic. Nothing has changed in 13yrs: BA retains ownership and is not going to allow those yahoos anywhere near its aircraft. And even casting that side: "Save Concorde" they don't have the money, they don't have the maintenance, they don't have the spares, MV-2 fluid is no longer manufactured and Exxon will not release the patent (Concorde can't fly without it), they no longer have the pilot base, they no longer have the simulators to refresh old pilots nor train new ones, and most importantly of all..... the Certificate of Airworthiness has been withdrawn by the CAA, and there's not a chance in hell that they'll get it reinstated on aircraft that have been sitting idle for nearly a decade and a half. That said, what a wonderful bird. She'll forever be one of the greatest triumphs in aeronautical engineering!
the concorde we know and love won't return to service because face it even though it was built in the 60's her design originally goes back to the 50's but because we know we want supersonic flights back it's highly unlikely that concorde will return but have a version 2 of it and have the version 1 as an airshow piece
