How do farmers afford these machines ?
Long, long, long hard days of back breaking work and maybe they might be leasing them ?
Well it may not all belong to one farmer but assuming it does then actually look at the machinery involved. The two massey's for example, the one pulling the mower is at least 20 years old. The one pulling the wrapper looks to be 30 years old. The New Holland looks about 10ish. The mower looks 10-15 years old and same with the wrapper. The newest piece of kit is the baler and the bank manager probably still owns most of that.
@@spudserobrien80 i see.. but there are videos of farmers using new machineries and that made me wonder maybe farmers in the USA have very large profits.

If you're wrapping them, why didn't you bale sooner at the proper high moisture content? The only purpose in wrapping them for you will be to let them sit outside, but you'll still have a poorer quality of forage than if you made baleage.

why do europeans bale grass silage right after mowing? isnt it too wet to make good silage?
+peskeyplumber It wasn't wet. The headlands were mowed down for hay days before but then was decided to be baled for silage,. The grass that was being mowed in this video was left for 2-3 days before it was baled!
Lucky to cut the grass dry never mind play with it.. Rain is never far away.. Pure panic

What does it cost per bale for the plastic wrap? and what does each bale weight?
A tole of wrap does about 60 or so bales at 16 revolutions of the wrapper, a role of wrap can cost between 60-80 euro depending where you buy it, a bale weighs about 150 kg
+Salwagon you done well to wrap 60 bales from 1 roll of wrap,when I was wrapping I was getting 30 to 33 bales from a roll at 16 revoulations.

too late probably, but i get 20-22 bales from a single roll on a mchale 991bc, putting 23 revs at the bale at a speed of 33rpm, how do you guys made 30-33? putting less metres on each one? pardon my english
