O apito dourado é de 2006, mas tendo crescido nos anos 90 lembro das anedotas que já existiam sobre o FCP, do tipo: "Porque é que o FCP não tem equipa de ciclismo? Porque não há árbitros no ciclismo." Muito passou impune e nunca saberemos de tudo nem o seu impacto. Ainda assim, é inegável muito do mérito próprio do FCP, pois foi muitas vezes atestado em campo. Foram décadas de uma presidência que virou um culto ao bom jeito ditatorial. Ouvem-se muitos elogios a PdC pela sua presidência, e eu acompanho os elogios à sua inteligência e talento para a gestão, mas como presidente acho ridículo. Muito menos a idolatria a alguém que todos sabemos o que fez, e tinha de no mínimo ser erradicado do futebol (como muitos). Não passo pano a nenhum clube, muito menos o meu. E por isso mesmo nunca votei LFV enquanto sócio. Mesmo em tempo de vacas gordas e quando ganhava por mais 90%. Se o meu ou qualquer outro clube tiver de descer de divisão sem olhar ao passado impune dos outros, que assim seja. Sempre que acusações deste género acontecem, o fanatismo aparece, todos apontam uns para os outros referindo situações do presente ou passado e ninguém parece querer ser honesto ou integro.

Imagine being a honest FC Porto fan and this is brought up everytime there is a debate about what is Portugals best club. Im a Benfica fan but overal despite blatant corruption and scandals in all 3 major portuguese clubs Pinto da Costa left a big mark both for the best and for the worse. Personally I despise him alot but hey if it were my club maybe just maybe I would be quiet and brag about having the most international glory of all Portuguese clubs. :)

same problem in greece with teams winning titles and cups by paying refs, bribing players, bribing teams, throwing matches for bettings and the list goes on but at the end of the day at best a small team will be scapegoated some 21st century examples: in 2002 recordings proving teams had been match fixing like crazy (most nottably olympiacos) but nothing happened. in 2012 olympiacos volou got relegated for being involved in a match fixing scandal that included bigger teams who got no punishment and then in 2019 proved in court that the relegation was illegal (took 7 years due to greek law system) i dont think the results of either the portuguese or greek league would have been insanely different even without match fixing but the teams involved should 100% be punished
