The reason the cheaper boxes have these locking tabs is because once you start putting weight in the drawer they’ll actually bend and slide all the way out on their own then the rest of the shelves will follow suite. Next thing you know, you show up to the shop in the morning and your toolbox is laying facedown, with the apprentices picking up your sockets like they just busted open a pinata

I just knocked mine out completely. People say oh when you move it around there gonna slide open but i don't have those issues. Idk if mine are so heavy they don't move, or too light but they don't slide open.

37s look small for that lift if you go to 35s it will looks goofy as hell

You can easily slide out the plastic latch by looking closely at the side, there is a small plastic tab you can release and the whole strip will slide right out super easily.

That’s the whole point of that box is the latches so the drawers DONT come flying out…

Thank you for showing this! Those things are super annoying to deal with, so much that I pile almost everything in the top section. 😂 I'm going to try this. I don't move my cart so there's no need to worry about the drawers opening. 👏👏👏👏

None of my Snap-On boxes have this problem.

Had my box on a slight slope at work, each individual drawer opened and tipped over 🙃, been running latches ever since 🤣

On the new ones the latches go straight across the whole length of the handle, so no matter where you grab it, there’s a tab that you can move to unlatch it. At least that’s how mine is that I just bought last week.

You mechanics that have this same cart , do you find it frustrating to access the drawers when you have the lid closed and things get put on top ?

I love that little cart man, i loaded it up with so much tools she just keeps performing and not complaining. Would buy another one no doubt if needed.

You can slide it out completely. No need for a nut

You can just completely remove them. Pull the drawer out all the way and you can slide the plastic locks out

I sniped thoes snd used magnets and double sided tape to make them hold shut

You can pull those locks out

Spray clear coat spray paint in the grips and slide them on. Once the grips dry theyll never slide around. And when you want to remove them cut with razor and they come right off.

I took mine off completely and did the magnet trick. It's been that way since the summer of 19 and I have no complaints

When those drawers get heavier, ur gonna want the lock.

Did you have glue under the grips because mine were not coming off like that after I cut it

Will the drawers still lock if the lid is closed?
